  1. Gary Thornton’s Quote “we’ve turned a corner” lol.......straight into a wall. It seems Gary only signs players he’s worked with before, he’s not there to make friends he’s there’s to improve and get the best out of the players. It’s his team this year no excuses, he’s signed mostly championship players and he’s turned them into average league 1 players. Do we have a kicking coach because our kicking game is very poor, Cain Southernwood’s can’t kick for toffee, no high or diagonal kicks, early in the second half he started to kick short pointless short kicks in to touch. Putting Jimmy Watson on the wing was ridiculous?, twice he was caught and put into touch and several times the ball was thrown straight into touch. It’s not his natural position, personally I would’ve played him at fullback and put Sanderson on the wing ( goal kicking ) if no other winger was available. Lack of players.......not when one leaves and two are on loan to Keighley. Reece Dean is our best stand off ( ? ) but he’s not a goal kicker ?, Danny Nicklas is rubbish , unfortunately Joe Sanderson last year and the few games he’s played this year shows no signs of improvement, he's not fast enough and needs to gain weight, I’d try him at scrum half ? against Raiders, in my opinion Cain Southernwood is overrated simply not good enough. How does Mike Emmett get in the team, sorry I need to stop now probably Gary’s ( inbetweeners quote ) FRIEND. Too many basic mistakes every week, lack of leadership on and off the field. Romain Pallares on YouTube looks an allrounder ?? was looking forward to him playing against Doni but didn’t happen, let’s hope he’s a winner. I was told Hunslet's budget this year was greater than Featherstone Rovers, money well spent Mmmmm not sure, time for Thornton and his side kick to go YES,
  2. I’m a Hunslet fan and haven’t been to your ground before. Where’s the best place to park ? Cheers mate ???, see ya Friday

  4. Looks like work commitments prevents him from playing every week or he’s injury prone, looks like he’s only played 4-5 times since signing. I think he’s good enough for super league but something doesn’t ring true, has he got attitude problems. When playing he scores tries, creates tries and kicks goals who wouldn’t want him in there team. If fit and playing very good chance Newcastle will be playing championship rugby 2020 but I predict he’ll move on.
  5. Agree Newcastle’s no. 7 was outstanding, kicking game was super league standard, fast and good with the ball an old fashioned scrum half. What I didn’t like about him was he conned the ref. Several times he pretended to be injured, one laying motionless for over a minute, to me unconscious. The ref. had just awarded a try, Newcastle’s water carrier who’d just treated Remy Marginet ( no.7 ) with the doctor approached the ref. RM immediately sat up got to his feet and kick the goal. The ref. then put one of our players on report. In my opinion referees should speed the games up by removing injured players, RM looked to have been knocked unconscious and should’ve been removed for a head injury. I don’t know how Newcastle signed an international scrum half, maybe he’s a problem player.
  6. Garbage, worst game of the year, did this team want to win today!!!! While Gary Thornton’s the head coach I won’t be renewing my season ticket. The standard of rugby this year’s been very poor and not worth the £800+ following Hunslet. We just don’t know how to play as a team. all we’ve got is a good goal kicker, a lovely little stadium and free parking if you don’t mind the drug paraphernalia condoms and #### wipes.
  7. I’ve watched all the home games this year and several away games. Sunday’s game was probably one of the best games we’ve played ? 6/10. We still need to improve by at least 30-40%. The referee made some strange decisions but the standard of refereeing has been poor all year. Our kicking game is poor at best, no organisation at times, we have a centre that’s hard running but can’t pass, a winger constantly playing with his ponytail and goading the opposition shame because with a decent centre and space he could be a good player ( to me looks like a scrum half ) and we have on occasions had a few too casual plays resulting in drop outs. Good to see on Sunday no forward passing ( usually 2/3 a game ) no kicking out on the full. It’s an unusual season Bradford and York too good for this league results have proven this, any other year Hunslet would’ve had a good chance of promotion. I think we’ll finish in 5th position this season, Oldham the team to finish in 6th. Fingers crossed there’s still a slim chance of playing Championship rugby next year.
