Lots of lovely messages on Facebook. Seems impossible we won’t hear “legs, Dews, legs” again. RIP Elsie

If you were to be offered the opportunity to win the Championship once again but the club would close down within a year, would you take it?
But we didn’t close down did we? And we aint had much else to cheer about since so thank goodness for Bob McDermott I say. Will always be a hero for me

Who knows how this one will go. We never know what we’re going to get until kick off with this lot. That said away form has been cracking so fingers crossed.

I’d have thought

I’d have thought he would have been asked. He might have spent a tad too much but had he not no one would have been up there celebrating on Saturday- cos we would have won nowt. I won’t say anything bad about him. One of best teams we ever had.
At the same time we owe MS a massive debt of gratitude. -

DEWSBURY RAMS have agreed a new two-year contract with forward Dec Tomlinson. Tomlinson joined the League One side from National Conference League outfit Shaw Cross...
Like the look of Dec so far so pleased with this news. Once the Coach and players work out he can offload and throw a decent pass and reckon he’ll be even better.

Well, unlike most of the posters I thought we were much better than last week. Ok, no where near perfect, still no backing up and not an ideal first half by any stretch but I thought we tried to play a little wider from the start and it was much less down the middle than against Goole.
Much better with Keenan on the wing I have to say.
Thought Hookem was MoM. Never looks like an old style 7 but he never stopped working and must have been close to the top of the tackle count. We were also better when both Toby and Dec were on together.-

We should be, but after last Friday’s débâcle, I’m not so sure.

One of the main reasons our forwards get clattered is McShane makes it obvious every time who's getting the ball. He never runs, never dummies and runs , never goes down the blindside. Except on the odd occasion we're near the line and he thinks he can score.
Couldn't make it easier for the opposition if we tried.
Agree 100% and wish that we could have Sam Day play, but coaches love tacklers and I’m relatable informed that he’s one of our best in that regard.
Rather frustratingly I see that Reiss Butterworth has played one game for Sheffield. Boy oh boy he’d be massive for us in this league. -

I understand your frustration Nick but suggest that you are in a tiny minority in this case. I would guess that there would always be a clash with something every Friday night (darts match, pool tournament...) that would affect just as many folk as this one.
As it happened I would have been better fixed watching tv.

Was poor tonight. Simples….

I know we’ve debated this before and while I understand (I think) why the club likes to have the odd Friday night match - why do we always chose one when Yorkshire CCC have a home blast game? They only have two or three Friday Blast games at Headingley all summer and yet, for the 72nd year running one of those clashes with our one Friday game. Suspect it doesn’t affect many people but it ****** me off. Mind, we could debate the joke that is a fixture list in this league ad infinitum.

I watched it again (from behind the sofa). It really was a nailbiter at the end.
The games against the star-studded Wigan teams from the 1980s and 90s are also on YouTube. We gave them some good battles. There were moments when they struggled to stop the likes of Dennis Bailey, Nathan Graham, Mark Haigh, Darren Rogers etc.
Happy, happy days. Just the mention of Dennis Bailey gets the endorphin levels rising. Good job you didnt listen to Eddie…….

A committed second half performance saw us home with better discipline and ball retention. Jamie Gill from Bradford seemed to do the most damage for us, and Hookem and Craig McShane had good games too. A lot of evenly matched teams in League One, just needs more fixtures.
A lot more fixtures

An unpredictable result, who would o' thought it
Not me
. Can’t believe it. Will wait to see what the brave souls that ventured up there have to say but pleased to see PS get a second run out. Surely we must have improved from last week to get a point up there

Neither half back can make a break or put players through a gap. Add the absence of any kicking game in the opposition 20 and our only tactic is to barge over. Either PM doesn't ask Coates and Hookem to practice kicks or he does and they ignore it in games. And McShane needs to add more guile at acting half. As soon as we get near the line, he'll try and barge over even on 6th tackle. Day is streets ahead of McShane but gets much less game time.
Equally not sure why some of our substitutions seem to happen at odd times.
Unless our 6,7 and 9 create more and PM comes up with some tactics beyond battering our way upfield then there's an even chance we won't make top 4.
Midlands took us apart. Fitter, faster and more creative. Crusaders just used their bigger pack to roll us over. And in neither game did we have any response. Feels a bit like Andy Fisher days all over again.
Super post. Agree 100%, especially on the use of substitutions which have baffled me all season

I think Kev Nicholas is in just this position, he also must be thinking what is the point to all this!
He would be better off putting his money on the Grand National, that's a total lottery, but at least there is a chance he might win. There is no chance at all in making money from RL.
He ain’t in to make money. None of em are …thankfully

Back to the absolute nonsense of trying to run a professional team in a league with only ten teams. Ain’t got any answers but we all know it’s laughable

The two “Shane’s” rightly garnered a lot of praise on Sunday but having watched the highlights I have to say that Jamie Field was absolutely stand out for me. Created the first try with his offload and then did well for both his tries. Think he’s really coming on and reckon he’ll only get better

I think we'll win today, we're improving week by week and really starting to play as a team.

Well. At least you two have agreed the winning team will score 28
too close to call I suspect.

Didn't see that coming. Must have improved since North Wales. Well played Lads...
Maybe I should keep staying away, therefore guaranteeing us a win....

Which ever is the daftest and least likely to work will undoubtedly win. Will SL allow two extra teams in though? Seems unlikely on past experience.
