Singleton’s shirt sold for £1,550

Recommended Posts

Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that Brad Singleton’s special embroidered debut shirt was sold for £1,550 – adding to the £16,500 already raised for the Rob Burrow Fund.

After 30 embroidered home shirts were sold earlier in the season, £18,050 has now been raised in total for the Leeds Rhinos legend, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in December 2019.

Prop-forward Singleton, who signed for Wigan last month, wanted to pay his own tribute to his friend, Burrow, by auctioning his debut jersey.

His jersey was specially embroidered with “Friend” – the word he chose to describe Burrow.

Singleton wore the shirt for his first appearance for Wigan in the Round 15 Betfred Super League win over Warrington Wolves at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

On Saturday 18th October, Singleton’s shirt was sold for £1,550 via the Club’s Community Foundation eBay page.

As a Club, Wigan Warriors would like to thank everyone who placed genuine bids, as well as the winning bidder for their amazing generosity in helping to raise funds for the Rob Burrow Fund, which is supporting Burrow in dealing with his diagnosis and raising awareness to aid research into MND.
