Leeds Rhinos winger Ryan Hall is hoping that home advantage will be key this evening – just as it has been in the previous two meetings on home grounds between Leeds and Wigan in 2015.
The Rhinos take on the Warriors looking to strengthen their grip at the Super League summit, with Leeds seeking a second win at Headingley against Wigan this year.
The Warriors also got the win at the DW Stadium earlier in the season as well as winning at Magic Weekend, and Hall is expecting a fierce battle – but hopes home advantage will be key.
“It’s always a tough challenge against Wigan, they’re a quality side and we’ll need as much energy as we’ve produced in the last couple of games to beat them again here,” he said.
“We’re conscious of the fact that when we did beat them this year it was at Headingley – we like the home advantage.
“They’ve got a good backline in general, not just the wingers. Their centres have been very effective for them all year and Dom Manfredi has come in when required and done a brilliant job for them all season.
“It’s first versus second, and there’s plenty riding on it all.”
