Halifax boss Karl Harrison claimed his side will be ready for Widnes Vikings on Sunday, as they prepare to do battle in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup.
Fax and Widnes are early pacesetters in their respective divisions and, speaking after their thumping 48-6 win over Doncaster, Harrison believes his side are more than capable of causing an upset.
“If we can start well and hold on to the ball for long periods then we’ve got people within our squad to ask some serious questions of them,” Harrison claimed.
“It’s a significant jump up in class; they’re a very, very well coached team with some superb individual players, but we’ll be ready for them.”
Fax were outstanding throughout the entirety of the contest on Sunday, as they rose to third in the Championship table with a huge win, and Harrison was pleased with his side, claiming the balance of its performance was excellent.
“I thought we played good. Patient when we had to be and explosive when we had to be – we got the balance pretty well. The lads who we picked did their job.
“We kept the ball really well, and if we do that we’ll cause teams problems. Our kicking game was very good and they found it very hard to deal with the pressure we put on them.”
