St Helens have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their massive clash against Leeds Rhinos this weekend, after coach Nathan Brown confirmed Lance Hohaia is set to return to the fold.
The Kiwi has been absent for the last few weeks after injuring his foot during last month’s victory against London Broncos, joining fellow pivots Luke Walsh and Jonny Lomax on the sidelines.
But he looks set to feature this Friday against Leeds, with Brown admitting the two week break has done wonders for his return – as the Saints have been able to ease him back to match fitness.
“The last couple of weeks have been good for us and importantly we went into it on the back of a win,” Brown said. “That has given us confidence ahead of this week. It’s a boost that Lance will come back too. He’s trained with us for the last fortnight and hasn’t been rushed in anyway.
“It’s huge to have him back. Lance knows his way around and has had a good year for us.
“There’s a lot at stake on Friday. Realistically, if we win two games then nothing can change on the ladder. We will go into all three games as underdogs and that isn’t a bad thing but probably right with the number of people we have missing.”
