Jacob Miller set for rugby league return following Castleford Tigers exit

JACOB MILLER will take to the field for the first time since his Castleford Tigers exit later this month.

Having returned to Australia, the halfback will line up for the United Sporting Club in the Premier League Nines on the Gold Coast.

“Essentially it’s a platform for former players to come back and have a run around,” tournament organiser Anthony Mitchell told Sunday Sesh.

The Australian was made captain of Wakefield in 2019 and had made 200 appearances after joining in 2015, scoring 62 tries and kicking 17 goals and 10 drop-goals in his time there.

He made the move to neighbours Castleford ahead of the 2023 season.

The 32-year-old still had a year left to run on his three-year Castleford deal that he signed ahead of the 2022 season, but Miller was released at the end of the 2024 Super League season.

At times during the 2024 Super League season, Miller suffered leg issues which has seen him hang up his boots from professional rugby league.

However, he will join the likes of Blake Austin, David Fifita and Ken Sio in running out for the USC later this month.
