Smith to allow Evans to leave Warrington

Tony Smith has confirmed that Ben Evans has been allowed to pursue a move away from Warrington.

The 23-year-old forward has struggled to establish himself in Warrington’s formiddable pack this season, with injuries disrupting his progress in recent times.

Evans, a Wales international, made his professional debut at the club in 2014 and has gone on to make 22 appearances for the club, scoring two tries.

However, Evans, the twin brother of Wolves back Rhys, has yet to make an appearance this year, and the Warrington chief has confirmed that he will allow the former Bradford loanee to leave the club at the end of the year.

“Ben’s having a look around at the moment to see what his options are,” Smith told TotalRL.

“He’s been battling injury for about a year or so, which has set him back behind a few this year. Ben’s on the lookout and we’re on the lookout for him too. But in the meantime, Ben is working hard and wants to play as big a role as he can for the remainder of the season.”
