Warrington Wolves captain George Williams set for shock NRL move

WARRINGTON WOLVES captain George Williams is set for a shock move to the NRL – but not until 2027.

That’s according to The Daily Telegraph which has reported that Williams will link up with the Dolphins at the end of the 2026 Super League season – when his current deal with the Wolves expires.

The Australian publication claimed that the Dolphins and Warrington had even contemplated a player swap, with Kodi Nikorima one of the names mentioned.

However, it appears as though Williams will be heading back Down Under in a solitary deal to link up with Kristian Woolf’s side for 2027.

The 30-year-old has registered 37 tries in 103 appearances for the Wolves since joining the club back in 2021 from Canberra Raiders.

Williams had played 32 times for the Green Machine in the NRL following a highly successful stint with hometown club Wigan Warriors.
