Well that's a fair answer to a point, add a decent player or two each year and build the squad strength.

But it's not the answer to the point I made in which if Clarkson develops his game with regular game time at Widnes Leeds will want him back.

TBF Lunt went on loan to Leeds so even the big guns do this, shame I have to do your answers for you.

sadly that would happen as it did with mcshane, he was brilliant for widnes whilst on loan and went straight into the rhinos first team the following season, sadly for paul he never kicked on again to the next level

by the time jammer hangs up his boots he will undoubtably be regarded as one of the great props in the history of the game, he has strength, pace, raw power and good handling, reminds me of the likes of shane webke and ruben wikki in their prime

castlefords two outstanding players have been clarke and huby, and as they are both gone i think the squad will be much weaker as a result

It's probably a manifestation of there not being enough quality players around, and that any surplus to requirement at the big clubs go to the little ones. Also probably a manifestation of Widnes only "spending what they earn" which is supposedly good management. Widnes take no risk with the player being a loanee, but let's face it if the player blossoms with regular rugby in a different position then it's a win win for Leeds as they will take him back.

VW was also very quick on the PR there with his "great signing" post.

But as Widnes are an SL side even if they don't make the 8 next year they only have championship sides to beat to keep their SL place. Looks like the club are happy to tread water.

or perhaps denis wants his squad to evolve rather than a scattergun approach to management like some who appear to sign a plethora of players every season
