#3053826 2015 - Middle 8 Predictions

Bradford's record last year versus the 4 teams above them:
Played 8, Won 3, Average score 19 v 30
We won't look at London's record!

Thing to bear in mind about Bradford last year was we played vast majority of our games with only 1 or 2 props available. As a consequence we were on back foot in most games. Also we were reliant to a certain extent on loan players who invariably were recalled as soon as they started to settle into team.

Anyone that thinks we aren't stronger next year than last is deluding themselves. We've retained majority of our SL strongest 17 and bulk of additions are SL level players. We have 30man squad to rotate as opposed to 24 man one we had last year. 7 genuine props in the rotation as opposed to last years 2 or 3. Only real player of note we lost who we'd have liked to keep was Kearney, possibly Donaldson too at a stretch.

Winning is a habit and we should be going into middle 8 having won majority of our games. Teams at bottom of SL will be in losing habit having lost majority of there's. There's no salary cap gap between Leigh,Bradford and London and wakey who have openly said they are only spending around 1million. There own coach has said in press they don't have a big enough squad to compete in SL. Cas have lost several key players and are an unknown quantity and hull fc are trying yet another halves combo. Don't think it's anything like foregone conclusion some people are making out.

The extra fixtures can be mid week games if necessary. The extra game not being included in the fixture planning dosn't make much sense to me. Keighley had two or three extra unplanned gams this season when they progressed quite far in the Chllenge Cup

Fixture congestion apart it's the issue of the clubs having to put an extra home game on with associated costs that would be an issue. Season tickets have been sold on basis of 14/15 home games. Clubs can't now ask fans it she'll out for an extra game, so their left having to put a game on and let season ticket holders in for free. Other 12 championship clubs aren't going to vote for a solution that potentially leaves them out of pocket. Plus disrupts everyone's seasons by one team having a bye every week.

Only solution that works is either reinstating original points deductions or financially compensating keighley IMO.

#2998198 Scotland independence / GB / Catalans (merged threads)

Interesting comment I read somewhere is that for an independent Scotland to be admitted to Europe requires a unaminous vote from all existing members. Article said France and Spain would both vote no because there worried about Catalonia following suit.

Sorry for this Parksider, but it appears that Bradford COULD run a 15,000 average crowd, 20,000 plus big game crowds and a long term productive academy. But as has been mentioned, the club has been through several changes in ownership, and most likely there are few faces that were there then that are still there. The ground and the badge are the same, but is there anything else remaining from the club that could do all those things? If not, what is to say that the current faces could emulate that success again? I hope they could - as you say, that would be a jewel in the crown of RL.

Well recent academy gradings which ranked us in top 3 or 4 suggests were maintaining our standards in that area under new management ok. Time will tell if we can improve on pitch and return to SL and grow crowds again but it's looking pretty positive so far.

Into the bit where you're repaying some of the loans and wage bills made to and for you by the RFL

Not that that old myth again. Loan from RFL was repaid in full by sale of odsal lease. Advances to cover wages during first admin were approx 360k iirc (exact amounts documented in administrators report) which were covered by remaining sky payments due to club that year anyway. Sky money deduction was totally unrelated to both issues.
