Eight former rugby league legends will swap the pitch for the boxing ring when they compete for the title of ‘Rugby League Fight Champion 2013’ on Wednesday 27 February 2013 at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.

The event will see the likes of St Helens legend and recent MBE Paul ‘The Saint’ Sculthorpe, Great Britain international and Leeds legend Keith ‘The Chief’ Senior, boxing regular and former Hull Captain Lee ‘Raging Bull’ Radford and Wigan ‘Team of the Decade’ player Mick ‘Butch’ Cassidy fight it out for the grand prize of £10,000. The fighters will be drawn at random in a Prizefighter concept and will face three matches to win the money and be crowned ‘Rugby League Fight Champion 2013’ – the hardest in rugby league.

£1 from each ticket sale will go towards Joining Jack, a charity dedicated to funding research and development for Duchenne Muscular Disorder (DMD).

Rugby League Fight Champion is being co-organised by Rugger in the Ring and St Helen’s legend Sean Long. Long recently fought in a Rugger in the Ring event in November 2012 in an explosive match against Munster giant Alan Quinlan. Lee Radford was also part of the November line-up where he took on Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott. McDermott won the fight and claimed the WCB Championship belt.
