  1. It seemed to take Salford 10-15 minutes to work out how to damage Saints when they were down to 12. Instead of the low percentage crash balls in traffic they started the second half with, the whole attacking line stepped back 5-10m (almost in an old fashioned way) and they were able to stretch the defence every which way. By the last 10 minutes the Saints forwards legs had completely gone to jelly.
  2. I had forgotten that an obstruction made smashing someone in the head fair game.
  3. Salford's game seems to be based on miracle passes, which seems a bit odd even when they land one because their wingers are both slow.
  4. That was an insane decision. This ref has sent a Saints player off (rightly) and is now having a massive panic.
  5. Poor coverage so far, no scoreboard on SL+ and no replays of that video ref decision. Hopefully the quality isn't starting to fray now we are past the opening rounds of the season.
  6. Yes and it's embarrassing to pretend that the same hasn't been true of Huddersfield during previous false dawns.
  7. As Leeds Wire has said, Ratchford currently has 33 consecutive kicks. So it is nuts that he is not on the field; it will cost us.
  8. https://www.totalrl.com/catalans-dragons-owner-bernard-guasch-hits-back-against-paying-for-super-league-opponents-travel-costs/ Strange piece here where Callum Walker doesn't appear to understand his own article or the comments from Guasch in it.
  9. I feel like if the ref would have done better to say the penalty was against Litten for acting like a mard after getting handed off. I would certainly have approved. On the game, Salford did very well but thought they might have blown it during those mad two minutes when Watkins failed to pass to his winger and then Cross got himself binned for a daft foul.
  10. Love Litten going in for a second go and getting ####### again. person who I hold in very low esteem.
  11. Mixed bag from Warrington, but from minute 20 to 60 we were excellent and lots of positive. Ben Currie has had a great game, as has Dufty. Think the ref (with support from the VR) has been excellent. Three high shots, but none of them malicious and the cards have stayed in the pocket.
  12. After loaning out Dwyer to Leigh, and Bullock and Russell to Hull, I hope Warrington will be in line for some sort of 'Spirit of Rugby League' award at the Man of Steel awards later in the year. It'd be even nicer to think we were actually trying to bring some players in; we don't have a massive squad.
  13. RIP. Rugby was never dull when he was around.
  14. Quite impressive, even with RL's capacity to waste a good crowd, that three teams have got good attendances for their home opener and been nilled (Hull, London, Huddersfield), with another team (Cas) losing 4-32.
  15. I wasn't sure there was anything wrong with the 2nd Ormondroyd challenge, looked like a ball and all tackle to me. Anyway, only watched the 2nd half but it was entertaining stuff.
  16. Ormondroyd should be in the bin at least for that, ridiculous challenge. And he is.
  17. There's just no logic to some of the stuff we are doing. Yes, crack down on the head shots and the swinging arms (Pele), and on the poor technique where nobody is making any efforts to get the shoulder down low (Watts). But dishing out yellow and red cards for clear accidents serves no purpose. You can't learn anything from an accidental head glance (Brown red card) incident where a guy has just fallen over in front of you (Powell yellow card last night), and those incidents will always occur in a contact sport.
