  1. For the sake of the game I'm glad it wasn't but I really couldn't see any mitigation. Great contest though, if Leeds can spend as much time in the opposition twenty in the second half as they did in their own in the first half, I think they'll win it.
  2. Intriguing prospect this one. I reckon Leeds have a genuine chance of knocking over the leaders.
  3. I do remember it. John Henshaw, who went on to play the pub landlord in Early Doors, was in it.
  4. Absolute legend, one of the all time greats of British cycling.
  5. As a neutral I was expecting the game to be much better. Apart from the last few minutes the whole thing just felt really flat, almost like one of the old Easter Monday games.
  6. Pretty much my take on things. Was hoping Cust would only get yellow but when I saw it later on TV it looked reckless and dangerous to me. Thankfully, Mourge appeared to be none the worse for it. The thing that pleased me most was not the fact that we really dug in after that, I expected no less, it was the quality of the rugby we played. The combinations between Asiata, Sezer and Pryce and the shapes we were throwing were a joy to watch. We really were stretching them. The numerical disadvantage was always going to count in the end but it was a genuinely exciting game until Batchelor got the lucky rebound off a great effort by Martin to shut down a three on one situation.
  7. With what we've got coming up in a couple of hours, I know exactly what you mean.
  8. Great individual effort from Smith against a tiring defence.
  9. Tex Hoy defended that breakout by Johnstone absolutely brilliantly.
  10. Great try, Hoy takes full advantage of a lazy looking attempt by Griffin.
  11. Looks like you only just got there in time: https://www.hullfc.com/blog/2025/04/17/mkm-stadium-sold-out-for-good-friday-hull-derby/
  12. I've seen an oystercatcher in Cott too, not too far from the railway line off Dunswell Road. So I can confirm that on this occasion at least, you weren't hallucinating.
  13. Blimey, I don't think I've heard that word since I nodded off in a lecture about the Risorgimento. But you're right. It's so utterly depressing that it's even being discussed.
  14. It'll come and we're going to take some stopping when it does. That second half today was torture though.
  15. A betting man might be tempted by Hull at +12.5 on the two-way handicap however.
  16. I know the odds are against it but it's crazy to think that's even a possibility after last year.
