  1. He was obviously a bit too quick for you. You'd fit very nicely in Hull FC's defensive line.
  2. Oh no, he was quite happy with my workmanship....ah...I see now.
  3. Popped round to someone's house this afternoon to look at a job they needed doing. Last time I worked at her house, her husband let me in and I remember talking to him about Hull KR getting promoted and the first Hull super league derby being a sell out. He wasn't there today so I asked where he was. "He's gone to prison for 18 years for trying to murder me" came the reply....
  4. I think there are a few West Stand Upper seats available for Friday's game, if anybody wants to see Robins really enjoying themselves...
  5. Very good. Was it the Ryehill location that gave it away? Was on good form was Arthur, looks in fine fettle after last years health problems. Nearly crushed my hand when we met. Still can't forgive him for playing scrum half for KR though.
  6. I got called out to Ryehill, East of Hull today. The guy I worked for had "HU11 6" as his number plate..."David Topliss!" he said, with a smile, as I was leaving. Any guesses to who it was?
  7. I remember being at college with a lad who'd just bought his first colour telly and was smilarly mortified to find out that Orville was in fact green when all his life up to then, he'd thought he was purple.
  8. how close to Millwall's ground do you live? I've often felt like doing that to cats as well.
  9. Did you gradually improve during the two hours though? Or did it only seem like you did? And was it because you maths ability deteriorated, in your favour?
  10. I have to confess, Rod Hull's downfall (coat, exit, etc...) did cross my mind just as I was beginning the ascent. Fortunately, I've done this sort of thing a few times in the past so wasn't unduly concerned. The bit where you get off the roof ladder and onto the upright ladder leaning against the house is always a tad disconcerting though. You can almost hear all the cameras in the neighbourhood, clicking and whirring into action....
  11. I was on my roof this morning, sat next to the chimney putting a new digital aerial up. I could see onto the sports fields near my place where lots of small kids were playing rugby. Sadly, it's a Union club. So, as it was very cold, I was wrapped up warm and it seems, for a few seconds, was watching "Rugger". Can I claim my
  12. You must be a teacher then, cos you'll no doubt be with some pesky kids.
  13. Had an appointment with a solicitor today, regarding the will of a chap i knew who died recently. The solicitor informed me that, as i suspected, he'd left his estate to his sister in law in New Zealand. I was able to tell him her name and where she lives so he could look up the NZ white pages on line in order to contact her to tell her the news. As I was leaving his office, about midday, he said "after you've gone i'll find her number and phone her in a few minutes". I had to point out that phoning an 84 year old lady, even on such an important matter, might not be well received at around 1am local time. He looked a little flustered and then said he'd phone in the morning.
  14. is... Music: "Mona Lisa Overdrive" by Juno Reactor ....written at the start of the video a joke then?
  15. keep battling Sev, how on earth you managed to post when in such a state, i've no idea. most nurses appear to be female, yet they have absolutely no idea have they? are your family gathered around your bedside?
