Yes, I'm not expecting to lose any weight by my middling to low amount of exercise. I'll need to cut out the Sausage and Egg McMuffins referenced earlier. *sniffs* So long, old friend ...

Okay. I'm a 5'5" short-house and weigh 13st 2lbs. Giving me a BMI of 30.3 and into the obese red zone. The NHS say I should be 10st 10lbs at my heaviest. I don't think I've weighed that little since before puberty. But I should probably try and head in that direction.

I am eating a double sausage egg mcmuffin. I earned it with the 50 steps I took to get from car to counter. Today is a DAY OFF.

No, we knew what you meant. Deviant.

Well, that was tolerable. 8.8k added to the total and I only spent a moderate amount of time reading the fire escape notices.

Could be singing about the gold standard for all I know ... -
I'll be the one over in the corner studiously reading the fire escape procedures for the 57th time.

Right. Hastings Runners this evening. I am far more nervous about having to talk to people than I am about anything else to do with it. I know I can run for an hour after all.

Our Last Men in the Philippines? -
I assume you'll be Danish national champion within the fortnight.

Yes. It was interesting thing to do. Not really done it properly before. I also don’t have a watch for time and distance whilst running so trying to make judgements in my head may not be the best way.

Yes, it was my funny joke. And also because I mentioned the word to Tiny Ginger a few weeks ago and I’m not entirely sure he’s stopped laughing.

The Half Marathon training thing said today I should do something called fartlek but as that sounded rude I thought I'd just play around with different speeds during the run. Hastings seafront is, I can thus confirm, 8.8k on a 'from Rock-a-nore to the Old Bathing Pool and back' basis.

*makes careful notes* Aged 48, lives in Swindon, surname Rhino. I reckon if I keep being nice on this thread I can clean out a few bank accounts by Easter. And nice work.

Watched "Leave No Trace" the other day. From the same director as "Winter's Bone" from a few years back and the two are very similar in feel. I think Mark Kermode (of whom much discussion a while back) made it his film of the year. I don't see enough films to agree or not but it is damn good. -
Good stuff. The Race to 1000k was a rather slow 6.75k round Alexandra Park this morning. Obviously I'm too dedicated to speed to stop and take photies, and no one wants to see my sweaty visage at the end. I am developing a deep and abiding hatred for dog walkers who think their precious poppet is fine not on a lead when they really are not.

Well, Mr Oco, that just means 13,000 today ...

Just above this post are three women in tight fitting Lycra advertising something called fabletics.

I see that one of the benefits of a thread about fitness is that the targeted adverts are attractive ladies showing their bottoms. I am very easily distracted.

12000 steps is bloody impressive

My target this year is to run 1,000k having run 0k in 2017 and 700 odd in 2018. I also apologise to anyone who ran Hastings parkrun yesterday. Who was I to know that handing out tokens could be so fraught?

It’s fun to stay at the YMCA. Or at least check out if a nearby one of them has gym facilities the public can use.
