  1. What does everyone think about York and the value that a successful club would bring to SL? Mark Evans, the former Melbourne Storm CEO said that RL in the UK should strategically focus on new markets with reasonably sized conurbations. North Yorkshire has over half a million people and York has several towns around it with no major sports team around it. The club has a decent stadium, I have no idea of what the club is like financially and whether they are stable enough organisation to play in SL, but I would like to learn more from the York supporters and other supporters that know the area.
  2. I rate Thomas, one of the best players in Elite One. Think he'd be a good match for Newcastle, let's hope this works out for him.
  3. The game's been pushed back to 8pm and now has water breaks, what more do you want? Are you a Leeds fan by any chance?
  4. Dmitri Biscarro has signed for Toulouse Olympique's Elite One team. He's also a prospect who I could end up playing SL.
  5. You wouldn't be able to video review it in the middle of the field. Even Hicks initially gave it as a knock on
  6. Tony Gigot having a nightmare and putting his team under pressure with several errors

  8. Doesn't Caddick through one of his companies own Headingley?
  9. In my view Leeds Rhinos are the model SL club and have all of the facets that we should expect from a UK club in the top flight. They are the benchmark. We need more clubs like Leeds, much more. SL, RFL and IMG in any forthcoming reviews of the top competition need to say to themselves, how can we bring more clubs that have the potential that Leeds have into SL? They are a club in a big city, playing in a stadium that they have control over (Yes I know they don't own Headingley directly). They don't have to pay lip service to a football or RU club. They can get corporate, event and matchday revenues from the facility. The stadium is top class, modern and looks great on TV, it really puts our product in a positive light. Now I'm not saying that you have to be a big city club to be a model club but I do think you need to preside over a large catchment area whether that be a city or a region. The clubs I see with potential to reach this benchmark are Cornwall, Newcastle and Hull FC. Hull FC is an interesting case, they can get big crowds, they are in a RL mad city, they have that potential but I do feel that their stadium situation is holding them back and I the ideal scenario for them would be to have their own purpose built RL stadium. Also my view that neither them nor KR have fully taken advantage of how passionate Humberside people are for RL.
  10. Absolutely agree on the stadium policy. Several years ago most Sydney clubs were playing at either the huge Stadium Australia or the smaller less modern grounds. I think it really affected the product negatively. It was not a good look to see less than 10,000 fans rattling around in an 80,000 seater stadium. Now with these new modern compact stadiums the product as seen by the viewer looks a whole lot better
  11. Yep Parramatta's stadium looks superb, great atmosphere, very compact and much like an English soccer stadium. It's gonna be interesting to see the designs for Penrith's new stadium too.
  12. In what way was it bad? Are we talking old Wembley bad?
