Tommy The C5t replied to skep155's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
About 150/300 at Odsal usually, although we had a gate of 1000+ vs Wakefield last year when we had the BBQ open day. -

Great stuff Rob. I'm just going to send them an email now. -
I'm a fan of the North West Quadrant myself. Great view.

I read it somewhere that the capacity will be capped at 72,400 for this years Grand Final. I'll try find the link.

It's 72,400
-
I think it'll be around the 69k/70k mark.

Looks like St Helens are struggling for supporters after reading yesterdays Guardian. Wigan sold out of their allocation of 12,000 tickets inside 48 hours, after four-hour queues formed outside the DW Stadium, whereas Saints still have tickets remaining at Knowsley Road despite sending some back to be sold centrally by the Rugby Football League

Do you have room in your car for me? I can't get to the game as the only train of the day from Bradford doesn't arrive into Whitehaven until after 16:00 and then I can't get one back till Monday am -

But to not even get a mention on the main sport page is nothing short of a disgrace. Kick n ###### even features three times I mean does this really wet your appetite for live sport: Rugby: Heineken Cup - Leinster vs Metro Racing "Can Brian O'Driscoll fire up Leinster" -
Grand Final: Wigan Warriors v St. Helens
Tommy The C5t replied to ckn's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Going for St Helens to win this one, on the back of the Cunningham factor alone. Now some may say it's ridiculous of myself to even suggest that Cunningham retiring from the game after a great playing career with St Helens is a big enough factor for St Helens to win the game. But I just have a sneaking feeling that Mr Cunningham and St Helens will finish the season on a high come 19:45 on Saturday night. Wigan are slight favourites with the bookies and after the season they've had, in winning the Floodlit 9's, finishing top and not to mention the clean sweep of awards at the Man Of Steel awards ceremony it's hard not to see why. It's going to be a tough ask for St Helens to produce the goods (minus two of their main gamebreakers in Pryce and Eastmond) and stop a possible fourth consecutive Grand Final loss. Wigan's defence last weekend at Headingley was a joy to watch, I've never seen anything as formiddable in all my years of watching the greatest game. The way the scrambling defence closed those half gaps and shut out wave after wave of Leeds attacking play was fantastic and breathtaking. One of the hardest Grand Finals to call IMO and the two Super League results don't give anything away. I'll call a Wigan Warriors 18-22 St Helens result. -
TRL GF Wetherspoons gathering 2010

Apologies I couldn't answer the phone earlier Paul, I was with my GP. -
Well here we have it ladies and gents, the Sky Sports October highlights taken from this months (allegedly prestigious) Sky magazine. In the eyes of Sky Sports this coming Saturday the most important event that they (yes it's on ESPN but the Sky/ESPN partnership exists) are showing isn't the Grand Final but Scottish Football and Hearts vs Rangers. See here: I find it disgusting that Sky should not mention the Grand Final at all. Also disgusting is for Sky to rate the Leeds Carnegie vs Sale Sharks game over the New Zealand vs England Four Nations game. Not one mention of Rugby League at all. So if anyone would like 90 sheets of toilet paper for free, please drop me a line asap as this is going in the bin in five minutes time.

What can we do for terrys family?
Tommy The C5t replied to iangidds's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I know there rumours circulating for a proposed Terry Newton memorial pre-season tournament between Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield and Wigan. Over two weekends with one in Lancashire and one held in Yorkshire. This would raise a lot of money to help Terry's wife and children. -

Wigan Warriors 34-10 Bradford Bulls after 78:00 minutes. Try: Lynch. Fantastic try, to speed through from the Sykes grubber to touch down. -

Wigan Warriors 30-6 Bradford Bulls after 75:00 minutes. Try: Goulding Platt knocks on from the kick-off and Goulding will set up the chance for Pat Richards to break the record held by Andy Farrell. -

Wigan Warriors 24-0 Bradford Bulls after 63:00 minutes. Still only the one score in this second half as the game descends into a scrap of errors and penalties. -

Wigan should be 50-0 up the way there throwing the ball around. It's amazing to watch, sad that we just can't stop it/no answer to the Wigan bag of tricks. Still 24-0 with 28:00 minutes left on the stadium clock. -

Wigan Warriors 20-0 Bradford Bulls after 40:00 minutes. Try: J Tomkins I called it, the defence was all at sea as they didn't recover from the speed of the Wigan attack following the penalty given away by Worrincy who has had a shocker and I would rip up the year extension right now if I was Mick Potter. It's the same old, same old here as the half-time hooter goes in the background.
