  1. Llongyfarchiadau to Wales Women, joining Wales Wheelchair RL in the Rugby League World Cup 2026...somewhere in the southern hemisphere (allegedly!)
  2. You got the Crusaders willing margin spot on! Well done....now do the next two games for us!!
  3. I went to the bookies but it was full of Torys voting on the election date!
  4. Toulouse Olympique, Bradford Bulls, Featherstone Rovers, Sheffield Eagles, Widnes Vikings, Wakefield Trinity, Whitehaven
  5. Convincing wins for Cougars and Oldham. Hunslet will squeeze past Hornets with home advantage. I'm hoping our win at home last weekend has generated some confidence and we get a good win at Newcastle Thunder. I want us to play with skill and discipline, defend well and cut out the errors and penalties.
  6. Just home from Eirias Park....and my heart rate is just about back to normal again. A pulsating game between two sides determined to overturn the ball once they'd scored! Crusaders threw a massive interception to Workington for them to go six points clear, then a further try to go 10 points behind, but Crusaders showed great character to win the game with grit and determination, despite Workington constantly trying to slow the play of the balls down. For me we desrved the win...but only just!
  7. Seems the takeover has been approved by the RFL https://www.nwcrusaders.co.uk/post/statement-elkaleh-takeover-approved-by-rfl Message from the new boss: “We now enter an exciting time for the club as a whole with plenty of positive stories to follow, and I look forward to meeting you all very soon. “This club means so much to all of us, I’m excited to embark on a journey together and bring success back to North Wales Crusaders as just reward for the hard work and dedication which you’ve all shown.”
  8. A deserving tribute to a very special man. I was in tears.
  9. R.I.P Rob Rob inspired me to raise some funds from MNDA last year, by cycling to a few North Wales Crusaders games at different grounds (Thatto Heath, Rochdale Hornets, Midlands Hurricanes and Cornwall). It was an incredible honour to be invited by MNDA to Headingley to take part in a reception with the Princess Royal. I met Rob and his family at the reception and it was evident how much he was loved and how much he inspired all the people that were at the reception. My thoughts with his family and friends.
  10. Absolutely gutted. Fair play to the lads today they put in a shift, but we should have shut the game down at 24-14. I have no idea of the penalty count in the second half but we let Oldham back in with a stream of soft penalties or mistakes. We really should have won that - fair play to Oldham for pressing and pressing and forcing us to defend for what seemed like a very long second half.
  11. I spoke to three of the Directors today and they were all very positive about the buyout. Personally, I'm waiting for the RFL to approve the deal, then for the fans forum to actually meet the new owner/investor. Sound like hes got a background with various RL clubs so I'm hopeful that this will see North Wales Crusaders flourish in the coming years.
  12. We have plenty of Wrexham FC fans who come to watch North Wales Crusaders. As a Wrexham boy, born and bred, I can only look over the fence with envy at the massive investment and success that Ryan Reynolds and Rob MacElhenny have brought to the Racecourse since their take over of Wrexham FC. I always look out for their results and I'm happy for them when they win - but go to a game? Not any more, I gave up watching football in the 70's and wont be going back. I do go along to the occasional Union game, but its mostly just televised games now. I certainly wouldn't miss a League game if there was a clash.
  13. Just home from Birmingham after a long drive from Cardiff to Birmingham then home to North Wales. A fair assessment of the game, YT Was Hewitt no 17? If no I'd put in a shout for him as MotM. Impressive thunder storm at the stadium today!! Our first time inside the stadium proper and I was very impressed with the set up - although the lack of low/no alcohol beers at the stadium bar could do with being addressed. A well deserved win for the 'Canes today; the looked like they wanted it more and were the better team. Crusaders looked lost at times and our enthusiasm seemed to have evaporated with the rain. Well done on the win and looking forward to our next encounter to see if we can make a better fist of it next time.
  14. WIns for Hunslet, Oldham and Rochdale. The L1 game of the weekend will be Midlands Hurricanes v North Wales Crusaders. Hurricanes hitting good form (apart from a surprise loss to Cornwall) vs Crusaders who have lost their way with a series of losses.....however, I think Crusaders will have targeted this game and have enough firepower to get a win....IF they finish their sets well. Some improvement needed but I'm confident Crusaders can pull of a narrow win. I'll be driving up from Cardiff after watching 4 Masters RL games in the Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday. 3 lots of Armed Forces/ Armed Forces Associates games followed by Wales Masters RL v Ireland Masters RL ...should be a cracking day of rugby league
  15. A good assessment of todays game...our 5th tackle decision making was absent and we just couldn't finish our sets with any meaningful plays. A massive call to arms by the club to get fans in seems to have fallen on deaf ears and the crowd was bolstered by a good amount of travelling support from Keighley. Best wishes to the lad who was stretchered off...wishing him a speedy recovery.
  16. It doesn't help looking at the league table either with some team having already played 9 game and some have only played 7. Its impossible to judge form given the difference in the amount of games teams have played....and then we all play dofferent strength teams 3 time...its a total shambles.
  17. Toulouse, Eagles, Rovers, Doncaster, Wakey, Widnes and York to win
  18. Best of luck to Thunder....what a tremendous set of supporters you have; very much involved in there being a rugby league club still playing in League 1. Very best wishes from North Wales Crusaders.
  19. Wins for Oldham, Hurricanes and Hornets...although the Hornets v Town game could be very close. Can Crusaders get points over Keighley? Well.... we'd have to be on top form to beat them, and after watching the game at Cougar Park I'm not confident we are quite there yet. I expect a Cougars win but I'd be happy with a strong performance and pushing them all the way and keeping the scorelines close.
  20. That seems to be the implication!
  21. Massive cuts to our central funding has lead us to this situation..... the RFL have cut the funding to the bone for League 1 and we've already see West Wales and London Skolars drop out, and our friends at Newcastle Thunder surviving due to a consortium of fans. The clubs at this level travel from Newcastle to Cornwall on a pittance. its no wonder any of the League 1 clubs end up struggling at some point
  22. North Wales Crusaders are appealing to supporters to help secure the club’s long-term future as well asking individuals interested in investing in the club to form expressions of interest. North Wales Crusaders have been at the forefront of rugby league in Wales since the club’s inception in 2012 following the demise of the Super League side, Crusaders RLFC. Now flying the flag as Wales’ only representative team within the professional leagues, the club have had to battle recent adversities including having the play the majority of our 2023 home games on the road and also a loss of a significant number of our core supporter base since the coronavirus pandemic. This has left the club with a void to fill, and whilst 2024 has seen us achieve a record breaking year commercially, it’s clear to the current board of directors that that alone does not ensure the long-term survival of the club. It’s of great credit to the current team and coaching staff that they’ve continued to navigate these difficult circumstances with with hard work and dedication. Our planning for the 2025 season is now well underway, and we’re excited to share our Vision 2025 strategy with supporters in the near future. However, to achieve the sustainable model which we desire, we are now appealing to supporters and the wider rugby league community to help keep rugby league in North Wales flourishing, and allow us to continue our work in developing the young, next generation of stars for the game. So, how can you help? We’re appealing to supporters to help us raise the £10,000.00 we need to ensure the club remains a sustainable enterprise and carries the ability to attract potential investment going forward. We’re welcoming donations however big or small towards our target and are also encouraging the local communities to turn out in force for our remaining home games of the 2024 season. Should any individual or organisation be interested in discussing further investment opportunities then please email info@nwcrusaders.co.uk
  23. Hurricanes will win this one. I'd expect a reaction from Cornwall to their recent poor form but Hurricanes are a very decent prospect for a top 6 finish this season.
  24. I'll admit I went along with a prediction of all home wins...Well done on a good result for Hurricanes...and the win moves them up to 6th in the league, one above Crusaders. We play Keighley next then a predicted battle royale in Birmingham to follow!
