  1. They’ve had them for years, del capo certainly isn’t the only person to know about it.
  2. I’d say they should join the NCL with that attitude, but they probably think Thatto Heath is too far to travel as well.
  3. Do you expect Cornwall to build their own 50,000 all seater stadium with retractable roof before they enter league one?
  4. The Highland League isn’t as professional as Scottish League Two, and not are the conference N/S as professional as the conference National.
  5. Let’s face it some people think there should only be clubs in Lancashire and Yorkshire, they even moan about Cumbrian clubs as it’s too far to travel. I expect Wigan will be next, that’s over 12 miles from the nearest junction of the M62.
  6. Nice away trip, take your missus and stay for a few days, what’s not to like. Away fans aren’t an issue here, it’s not like heartlands L1 grounds are currently packed with away fans.
  7. What next, refusing to travel to Cumbria, or to challenge cup away games if they’re more than walking distance away?
  8. A lot less time than Cas and Wakey have been then.
  9. What’s his failure, the only thing you can say he’s failed at is getting Ottawa into L1, but personally I’d blame the pandemic for that rather than him.
  10. There’s also a difference between objectively analysing somethings chances with very little information to go on and blatant sneering.
  11. 16 hours in and Cornwall have 1,700 followers on Facebook already, though I expect most of them aren’t from Cornwall it’s still impressive https://m.facebook.com/cornwallrlfc
  12. They could take the game to the wider Cornish public with annual on the road games at Tintagel and St Michael’s Mount.
  13. No but it makes a depressing read.
  14. Indeed, I wouldn’t have a clue if someone set up a Union club and it didn’t work out, and if that did happen it wouldn’t reflect badly on RU as a game.
  15. More sneering, you have no idea what research they’ve done or what sort of reception they’ve had in Cornwall, so why not wish them well and wait to find out more?
  16. If I was a player with no family ties I’d rather spend my summer in Cornwall than in any of the other 11 league one locations.
  17. Good to see 4 domestic based players in there. I expect Jamaica will be too good for that squad though.
  18. Nice. I wonder how many of the team have ever been to Scotland though.
  19. Because they haven’t got a pot to slash in and they’d have to pay accommodation and travel for 50 odd people, at least, and they’d get a small crowd to fund it. Unsatisfactory I know but if they get 3,000 at POR it will bring some revenue in at least and they probably won’t have to pay for hotels even.
  20. Neither do I, and I’ve often said on this forum that the Scottish and Irish teams are pointless too (and get shot down for it). Jamaica are slightly different because they have a domestic quota and were going to have a minimum number of domestic players (4 iirc) in their WC squad, same with Greece.
  21. I agree with you in principle but all the players will be coming from Lancs and Yorks, so it makes sense to minimise their travel and accommodation costs, and get a decent crowd in. If it was played in Scotland they’d have to pay for hotels for a couple of nights at least, and the crowd would probably be smaller than at POR.
  22. Weird that he mentioned Fev the other day when they’d never played there before, maybe he’s secretly the Chief Exec of Scottish RL.
  23. Indeed, there are six clubs entering the Scottish Cup https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1916632855164630&id=171690882992178
  24. Thanks. Good to see five teams this season, with potentially Aberdeen to be added next year as they’re reforming.
