  1. That's laughably expensive. €39 a month. It is €171 for 12 months. For games on at Saturday and Sunday morning. They really have a high opinion of themselves. They aren't expanding demand they are killing it. Charging these prices in Ireland where the sport is very niche.
  2. I understand what you meant. And I agree with you.
  3. I remember reading about a Gaa president being asked a question if he was worried about the success of the Irish football team in 90s. He said he wasn't because fai didn't have infrastructure to benefit from it. No amount of international success is any good if potential domestic players have no were to play with or teams to play against.
  4. The focus of using heritage players hasn't worked. Better off having locally based players at international level no matter what the results are and whatever leve 25 or 30 years has been wasted and Rugby League in Ireland is back were it was 25 years ago.
  5. In regards to international Rugby League, Ireland is currently an irrelevance.
  6. Jack Crowley the Irish Rugby Union international was reportedly offered £700 k a year by Leicester.
  7. While Rugby League has an Income problem Football has a spending problem. Premiership Rugby Union in England has the income problem too.
  8. Çovid appears to have been final nail in coffin. The lockdowns etc changed the habbits of people.
  9. In the last 20 or so years I learned don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.
  10. Mate I doubt it. When these players play union they play in front of 50 to 200 paying €10. I wish them well.
  11. In my pessimistic mood I couldn't predict this. Rugby Lesgue in Ireland Is now largely a shell entity. As I said previously the peak of the game in Ireland was from 2000 to 2010. The withdrawal of funding by RFL lead to a steep decline in participation.
  12. I am an outsider looking in. I just think it is just baffling. If one Ryanair flight and accommodation for a squad is that big of a deal they have an income problem not a spending problem. Cutting will never get a business out a income problem.
  13. Would be logically only answer. These teams would have players on contracts unsuitable for League. The RFU would just introduce their own franchises If they went exclusively League. In the event of mass walk out of Premier Rugby the RFU would sign players and join the United Rugbt Championship with their own franchises.
