  1. Oldham RLFC are delighted to announce the return of Simon Winnard to the board of directors. Simon was an intrinsic part of the team that acquired the club back in March 2023. During his previous time on the board, he played a pivotal role in many aspects of the club; whilst always championing the views of our supporters. Chairman Bill Quinn said: "We are delighted to have Simon back on board. He has always demonstrated a genuine passion for the club and, even during his time away from the board, has continued to help myself and the club whenever asked without question. Anyone that knows Simon, will know that he has great business acumen and will be a real asset to the board. I firmly believe this will prove to be an important appointment for the club, and we are thrilled to be working with him again." Simon has a long history of involvement with Oldham RLFC. He was the Oldham correspondent for ‘Rugby Leaguer’ newspaper for many years, contributed to the fanzine and matchday programme as well as volunteering for the club on matchdays. Simon was also instrumental in creating the Rugby Oldham Supporters Trust, alongside the late Brian Walker and was also a coach on the RFL Development Scheme in Oldham. Away from rugby, Simon has a wealth of commercial and risk management experience and currently works as the European Fraud Lead for a leading global health insurer, leading a team of healthcare fraud investigators extending from the UK to Belgium, Spain and the US. On his return to the club, Simon commented: "I’m extremely pleased to have the opportunity to come back on board. Whilst undoubtedly there are challenges to face into, I’m genuinely excited about the future for the club under the current leadership. Anybody that knows me understands that, first and foremost, I’m an Oldham RLFC supporter who cares deeply about the club. The timing was right for me to return and help the club continue the journey we started back in 2023."
  2. Were flavour of the month for some Latics fans ain't we.. a shame really as the majority of Oldhamers would want both clubs to prosper you would think
  3. Was you? Seen your claiming it thrown
  4. I've heard the chair wasn't picked up and launched.. he fell over it and then pushed it out of his way.
  5. Arghh yes I'm sure you'd be perfectly calm if your landlord decided he was going to put your rent up from 2k to 5.5k
  6. Allegedly
  7. It's not anyone from ORLFC who is ignoring requests for mediation
  8. I made my peace with losing rugby at BP when the whole fiasco became apparent.. I get that for many there is a belief that we can't make a success of playing outside of the borough but we need to accept the situation we are in and this is that we are not going back to boundary park anytime soon and to be honest we are probably getting seen as a valued business partner at Staylebridge rather than a hindrance like we are at Latics. The onus of putting bums on seats has been put on the fans I do get that if we can try and convince others to come it would improve attendances but the reality is if the club stays in Staylebridge for a long period of time to make a success of it we will need to engage with community groups, schools, sports clubs etc in Oldham & Tameside this can't solely be put on the existing fan base this has to a long term project ran by an employee or volunteer at the club. Bills comments on a different approach to recruitment doesn't come as a shock either theres only so long unsustainable spending can be allowed to continue for and it appears after this season well be cutting our cloth accordingly and I have no issue with that sooner have that than end up like one of the many RL who no longer exist. For me there no reason why we cant be a stable championship side who slowly grows year on year on and off the pitch.
  9. Pretty much sums up my thoughts on it all
  10. I wasn't there to receive the tone or emphasis of it so it's not fair for me to say
  11. Anyone at "home"
  12. Wasn't there in time for it myself but was told that... Benidorm and Musgrove legalities are over with. Latics have essentially triple the amount of staff Yeds should pay for in comparison to last season. We've not received any money from any of the items sold in the club store. Latics want us to pay disputed invoices. Bill Quinn can come to the games at BP but a steward must sit with him.
  13. Looked like everyone was just parking all the way up mottram rd caught one family in the garden videoing all the cars they must not be used to that when Celtic are at home
  14. And after the heartfelt response he didn't have it in him to tell him what he really meant
  15. After nearly not playing today due to Keighley being unable to find a suitable pitch Oldham RLFC Ladies team won 58-00 at the netpar training center in a game that was halted after 60mins as Keighley couldn't feild a full 13 because of injuries. What a fantastic a start to Northern League 3 for our Ladies Team. Well done to everyone involved "Come on The Roughyettes"
