Cook Islands have gone under the radar a bit here, they have a pretty strong squad and some aggressive, colorful characters along with some skill. I can see them putting a big score on possibly the worst squad in the tournament. I think they've got the ability to test PNG and Tonga too.

Really looking forward to this one. After some good games but no real close ones, I'm hoping this one will be both a great spectacle and a tight affair. Tonga should have too much for the PNG pack but if PNG can hang with them, they have the players to really punish a team if they get on the front foot. After being sick of seeing Ipape sprinting through Fev, I'm quite looking forward to seeing how he goes here.

Manu is the best player in the world at the moment. He’s dragging an average NZ through this. Absolutely class.

Slight tangent after a thousand beers and some reflection. Want to highlight Chris Hill and how good he is. I've always liked him, he's a really smart footballer, a big body and technically excellent but I'm embarrassed to say I was one of those who was underwhelmed by his selection in the squad and in the team. Ridiculous really, he's only 34, had a great season and it's not like he was reliant on pace to be a good player previously. Really top level front rower and glad he made me feel stupid.

One thing I take out of this and I agree with it is that the Kangaroos are our sports best brand. The fact they dont play and Australians dont give a about it is one of the main reasons our sport doesnt grown.

I didn’t think I’d be saying this but England can beat that Australia team. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll see that contest as I don’t think that Australian team can live with NZ. We’ll see in any case.

I mean the standard won’t be at the levels of other games but it should be a close one. Hopefully an entertaining one like last time.

I get what he’s going for I just don’t agree with it in MM. All this big blokes getting a roll on and no dummy half to take advantage. Tomkins jumped in once tied up markers and we scored. If we had Ackers or even Darrell Clarke we would be 30 points up now.

McIlorum aside this has been great from England. A dynamic dummy half and this game would be over already.
