  1. Watching the Football world cup happening here in Australia I can only hope that the decision makers in our game are taking it all in. Huge potential to move into new markets via the women's game ( hello Brazil!) which could lead to expansion into the mens, youth and kids targeted areas. Role reversal from the traditional men first development might just surprise us all.
  2. Thought I'd knock up an idea for a comp at the end of 2024. While tests series can be great I dont think they capitalise on the amount of good quality teams we have in RL at the moment. I know France will be just making up the numbers competitively but they would be much more cost effective than flying over and paying a third SH team. I've suggested ideal locations but id see which cities want to bid to host international sport first and select accordingly. I'd be open to Frances place being taken by FIJI or PNG if people think the comp would still profit England, New Zealand, Samoa, France. Week 1. England v NZ: London France v Samoa: York Week 2. England V Samoa: North East France v New Zealand: Albi/Perpignan/Toulouse Week 3. England v France: Midlands/ South Yorkshire Samoa v New Zealand: Headingly stadium Leeds Week 4 (Final) Etihad stadium Get a competition sponsor and get the games on BBC 1 or C4
  3. Reports coming out that Matt Parish is stepping down. Huge news and something that was badly needed for Samoa. They have underperformed for years and have usually looked poorly coached and badly out of condition when it comes to end of season tournaments. Aided to that he had lost the support of the players, to the extent they sent a letter to the Samoa's Prime Minister and the Samoan RL board last year to try and oust him. The talk is of the John's brothers taking over. I am not a fan at all of the way they have touted themselves for the Samoa coaching role but hopefully they persuade some more quality players to get on board, who wouldn't play for Parish. Hopefully this can be Samoas Tonga moment:
  4. A whole host of nations (albeit 4 so far). 80% of research complete, all nations (barring the big 3) should be live by January 2020. https://hecanplayfor.weebly.com/
