Broncos star pleased with Knights experience

Recommended Posts

London Broncos half-back Dan Sarginson is relishing the prospect of getting his hands on the Alitalia European Cup when the England Knights take on Scotland in Edinburgh's Meggetland Stadium on Sunday (2.00pm).

Sarginson was part of the Knights team that defeated Ireland 56-4 last week and the young stand-off is hoping for a repeat performance this weekend as the Knights aim to secure the title.

"The team performed really well against Ireland and we've bonded well in camp over the past few weeks so it's been a good experience," said Sarginson.

"When you play a team who are ranked a bit lower than you it can be very easy to go away from your system and try and throw the ball around too much but we stuck to our plan well and weathered their storm and it paid off in the end.

"Great credit goes to the forwards who laid a great platform for us to play off and when you have guys like the Burgess brothers and Scott Taylor in form it was like watching bowling balls going down an alley at times with people bouncing off them.

"Scotland will probably be another big game for our forwards but hopefully we can build on that performance against Ireland and win the title.

"It would be great to get my hands on the Cup - I've never won any silverware before so it would be great to be able to change that.

England Knights continue their Alitalia European Cup campaign against Scotland at Meggetland Stadium, Edinburgh, on Sunday October 28 (2.00pm).
