The Dons made it eight wins in a row in Betfred League One with a convincing 50-6 victory over Keighley Cougars at Cougar Park.

Richard Horne made just two changes to his starting XIII, as Richard Owen and Ryan Boyle came into the line-up.

The Dons got off to the perfect start and had their first try inside the opening three minutes, as Frankie Mariano stepped inside and cruised over. Matty Beharrell added the two for 6-0.

They scored again with almost a quarter of the game gone, as Russ Spiers proved to be too strong for the Cougars defence and powered his way over.

Richard Owen scored the Dons’ third try of the half when he got on the end of a smart pass from Jason Tali to go over in the corner.

Richard Horne’s side were dealt a blow with 10 minutes of the half remaining, as Jordie Hedges was shown a red card after a high shot on Cameron Leeming.

The Dons got off to a flying start in the second half, as Spiers raced through a gap within a minute of the restart to extend the lead. Beharrell added the two for 22-0.

They scored again seven minutes later, as Jordan Howden’s kick bounced into the arms of Jack Logan who had enough about him to stretch over.

The Dons were in complete control and added another try when Owen found Tali with a pass inside for the centre to score.

Keighley got their first try of the game with 16 minutes remaining, as Andy Gabriel got on the end of a kick from Benn Hardcastle to touch down. Hardcastle added the extras.

Normal service was resumed soon after as the ball was worked out to the right where Sam Doherty managed to squeeze his way over.

The Dons scored again with eight minutes remaining, as Howden put the ball on a plate for Jason Muranka to touch down. Beharrell added the two for 44-6.

Muranka then added more gloss to the score-line inside the final minute, as he latched onto a brilliant run and pass from Ryan Boyle to cross for his second. Beharrell converted.
