Kieran Cross has enjoyed being back in training with the Dons as early preparations for the 2019 campaign continue.

The players returned to Castle Park last month, and Cross says they are all working hard to improve their fitness levels.

He said: “We’re a couple of weeks in now and everyone is enjoying the work we’re putting in, it is hard but good to be a part of.

“We haven’t seen each other for a few weeks so it’s good to be back in the group and meet the new lads.

“We get more information about what meals to eat after training so we know how to recover right and manage our bodies.”

With the fixtures already confirmed for next season, Cross says the Dons are excited about facing some tough tests early on.

He added: “We’ve got a tough start to the season on paper, all the lads are looking forward to it and trying to get off to a good start.

“We try and lift as much as we can and run as far as we can at this stage, the coaches are really looking after us and keeping us ticking over.

“Everyone was disappointed with how last season ended, it effected the lads and we really want to go up in 2019.”
