COMMUNITY SUPPORT - £5000 DONATION TO LOCAL CHURCH

 

Over Christmas, the club were delighted to support our neighbouring church

Rochdale Hornets recently came to the rescue of St Clement's church, to ensure they can keep their doors open to the community over the Christmas and Winter period. Rochdale Hornets, donated a cheque of £5,000 to help support them through this time.

St Clements Vicar, Edward Thomas, commented; "When the Rochdale Hornets board heard of our plight to keep the doors open, they immediately offered to contribute a donation amount of £5,000. With the backing of Rochdale Hornets, they have made this wonderful Charitable Contribution to St Clement's. This contribution will assist us to cover our large financial commitments during this difficult Winter period and will also ensure that St Clement's continues to remain open for worship and remain available to our local community. The Parish Church Council and all our Congregation are immensely grateful to have had the strength and generosity shown by Rochdale Hornets as our loyal neighbours."

Rochdale Hornets General Manager, Matt Rigby, commented; "It is always a nice feeling giving back to the community, and this case is no different. Helping our neighbours and local community to ensure they keep the doors open and have a place to congregate over Christmas and New Year give us as a club and enormous feeling of pride. Myself and board Director, Carl Halstead, attended the church before Christmas to present the cheque in person, the welcoming we have received from the Vicar, Edward Thomas, has been second to none, and we encourage more of our local Spotland community to engage at your local church to support them through the hard times. We look forward to welcoming the Church community to a Rochdale Hornets fixture in 2024 and beyond!"
