The final of the 2012 Autumn International Series between England and France at Salford City Stadium on Sunday November 11 will have an Irish flavour after the RFL agreed a match sponsorship arrangement with civil engineering company Westshield.

The Oldham-based company have strong links with the Irish communities in and around Manchester and are using those links to turn one side of the Salford City Stadium green next weekend.

As part of the arrangement, Westshield have block-booked the South Stand and will be working with schools, youth groups and sports clubs, including the North West’s burgeoning Gaelic football scene to give them an exciting taste of international Rugby League.

“We’re delighted to have this opportunity to help promote the autumn international to what will be a new audience for the sport,” said Westshield director Patrick Waldron.

“Westshield have worked in and around Salford for the last 30 years and we did some work at the new stadium so it’s very exciting to be part of the first ever Rugby League international at the venue.”

Westshield are also looking to engage with schools and junior Rugby League clubs in the Oldham area to help create a unique atmosphere for the final of the Autumn International series.

RFL Communications Director Niel Wood said: “It’s fantastic to have a company like Westshield which shares the sport’s strong community values on board for this eagerly anticipated fixture.

“This partnership will give Westshield a massive presence on national television and provide their guests with a great opportunity to experience the skills and athleticism of Europe’s top rugby players.”

Tickets for the final of the 2012 Autumn International Series at Salford City Stadium on Sunday November 11 (5.00) are available from just £12 for adults, £6 concessions, and can be purchased by calling the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 856 1113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk
