Tigers Secure Sponsorship for Claws

Castleford Tigers has secured sponsorship of its popular cheerleading squad and dance group, The Claws for the 2013 Super League season.

Dubbed one of the best dance squads in Super League, The Claws had a number of high profile companies keen to support the premier dance group but it was Polar Ford in Castleford who sealed the deal.

In the last two years there has been an increased demand for performances of the girls’ vibrant and energetic dance routines both on and off the rugby field. In 2012, their busy schedule included notable performances at the Gilette Four Nations final at Elland Road, the Magic Weekend in Manchester as well as the Super League Grand Final.

2013 promises to be even busier with bookings already in the diary for performances later in the year at international sporting events outside of rugby league. More immediately, however, the Claws are preparing for what they know best, with a spectacular performance planned for the Tigers’ first home game of the season against Leeds Rhinos.

Commercial Manager Nick Fozzard said, “The Claws are a fantastic part of the Castleford Tigers team. Not only do they entertain the crowds on match days but they also regularly support charity events as well as get involved in the delivery of dance classes for hundreds of local children as part of the Castleford Tigers Dance Academy.

“We weren’t surprised that a number of companies were interested in sponsoring them and it is an absolute pleasure to have Polar Ford on board. Special thanks go to General Sales Manager Paul Woolford and of course our old friend and Ford’s local Business Development Manager Robert Ruffler.”
