If McDermott is looking to play a structured off the cuff free flowing game then he has to pick Hamlin-Uele! Not only does he do the job a prop needs to do and do it extremely well, he makes massive amounts of post contact metres, stays on his feet and rarely get dominated, defends technically very well and isn’t ever lazy in D but it’s his late offload game that sets him apart and that will be gold in a team playing an expansive free flowing attacking game.

Don’t know about the others but Calib Hamlin-Uele’s mother is English and he declared for England while we were still in the Championship so he’s no last minute bandwagon jumper

But you’ve said no to Eckersley because he doesn’t play Full Back regularly then suggested Ashton who’s hardly ever played there and been out injured for 12 months. If we don’t go for Brimson and we steer clear of Welsby then perhaps the next best is Farnworth but then he’s not a regular Full Back either so we’re left with young kids with a bright future but thrown in too early like Taylor Wray or Cartwright
