  1. Thats a lot different from “senior players challenging his decisions”
  2. and? Are you suggesting the St Helens BoD got it all wrong and Rowley performance as a Head Coach at Clubs who’s potential is limited don’t matter?
  3. I’d just remind them that their mates Cunningham and Wellens were multi title winning players but knew the square root of Jack tish about coaching, so pipe down!
  4. If McDermott is looking to play a structured off the cuff free flowing game then he has to pick Hamlin-Uele! Not only does he do the job a prop needs to do and do it extremely well, he makes massive amounts of post contact metres, stays on his feet and rarely get dominated, defends technically very well and isn’t ever lazy in D but it’s his late offload game that sets him apart and that will be gold in a team playing an expansive free flowing attacking game.
  5. Don’t know about the others but Calib Hamlin-Uele’s mother is English and he declared for England while we were still in the Championship so he’s no last minute bandwagon jumper
  6. His opposite number was too defensively shrewd to get done by his tricks and too fast to get burned by speed. coming into the series all the media were talking about how Marty Mark was going to wow the UK fans blah blah but now he was poor because he was out of form
  7. But he shut Nawanganitawase down in all three Test Matches Then look at how he played Vs Tonga, Samoa etc his defence and awareness saved a number of try’s
  8. I am amazed people don't pickJohnston he’s by far the most accomplished experience England qualified winger. He’s played numerous Tests for England and always been one of our better performers, including last year‘s ashes.
  9. Wakefield are decimated in the backline with Rourke, Pratt, Walmsley, Hall & Lino all set to miss out. In addition we have Jowitt and Sinfield who are returning from lengthy absences. This will be a hard game for Trinity to win!
  10. York have already signed him!
  11. This is just a running assessment of the players who might be selected at the end of the current season. I know some might be out of short term form or out injured for a couple of weeks or so but it’s just supporters chewing the fat about who they’d select if all things were equal.
  12. Which position and ahead of who though, Wardle, Farnworth, Johnstone, Young, Ashton, Smith?
  13. I don’t disagree but pick me 2 Full Backs? We either go with what we know doesn’t work or we get creative, brave and throw a young kid in there! Jake Connor at Full Backs? Pick Welsby again? Throw Taylor - Wray in?
  14. But you’ve said no to Eckersley because he doesn’t play Full Back regularly then suggested Ashton who’s hardly ever played there and been out injured for 12 months. I get your point re, someone better but as I said who? If we don’t go for Brimson and we steer clear of Welsby then perhaps the next best is Farnworth but then he’s not a regular Full Back either so we’re left with young kids with a bright future but thrown in too early like Taylor Wray or Cartwright
