In the 1989-90 season, the second division (equivalent to today's Championship) had good crowds.

Top 3 averages were :-

Halifax 5,921

Hull KR 4,851

Oldham 4,615

Oh how things have changed !!!!!!

Fair comment Baaarrow but 23 years is a very long time. I'd like to see setails of all pro clubs at that time. I think football have the same problems outside the to half dozen clubs. Peoples habits have changed a great deal in a lot of things. A lot more sport is on live TV, people have not the same disposable income etc. I saw just a bit of one of the FA cup games on Saturday. I can't remember which one and I was amazed at the number of empty seats.

I'll be interested to see what others think.
