COUGARS Reserves were labelled “embarrassing” by Scott Lindsey after a derby thrashing at the hands of the Bradford Bulls.

Lindsey was left fuming by a performance that saw his side ship 13 tries to their local rivals which left the Head Coach crying out for new blood.

Despite a solid opening to the game, the Bulls ran in 3 tries in the space of 5 minutes with Josh Rickett first scoring in the corner after quick hands by Rowan Milnes and Ross Oakes.

From the restart, Oakes broke the Cougars line and from the tackle, Evan Hodgson dove over and the Bulls broke from the restart again with Rickett rounding the full-back for his second.

Reiss Butterworth was next to add his name to the score sheet, burrowing his way underneath the uprights despite the attention of four defenders.

The Cougars did get brief rest bite when Gavin Reed got through a space in the Bulls line following a knock-on to score.

The home side still had time for another 3 scores before the interval with James Davies turning through a tackle and powering 60 metres to cross.

Matthew Storton then touched down after being set free by a superb offload by Milnes with Hodgson the scoring his second after coming through a sea of bodies.

Things didn’t get much better in the second-half with the Bulls scoring from their first set of the half as Ryan Butterworth raced in at the corner.

Rickett then sealed his hat-trick with an acrobatic effort in the far corner with Alix Stephenson then racing the full length of the pitch from a missed tackle.

Milnes, who had been the provider for many of the tries before, then scored himself with a superb solo effort after escaping the clutches of the Keighley defence.

Ryan Butterworth would then score twice in the space of 5 minutes to seal his treble, first diving over in the corner from close range before going the length of the field to score near to the uprights.

Cougars had the final say as Aidan Scully broke the line to score.
