Community Clubs Day

In association with the Swinton Lions Community Sports Foundation

We have designated the game against London Broncos on Sunday 12 June (kick-off 3pm) as a Community Clubs Day.

As part of the process of celebrating our 150th anniversary year, Swinton Lions RLFC is saying thank you to all the community clubs and neighbouring family of Super League clubs who have supported us throughout our history. As a one off for this weekend’s game against London Broncos, any member of any community club or season ticket holder of any Super League Club just need to bring appropriate verification and they will get a specially discounted ticket of £10 for the game, or £5 for over 65s whilst all under 16s will be admitted for free.

The players will also mark the game by playing in the shorts and socks of their own community clubs, and Swinton will be opening its doors to its corporate hospitality to these community clubs at special rates. The 150th anniversary year has already seen the Lions reward the neighbouring Folly Lane ARLFC with free season tickets for all its junior club members.

Steve Wild, the Lions CEO said, “At Swinton we have a very proud history and we look forward to a bright future, but we respect that as a Club we would not have survived for so long without the hard work of all the community clubs in the game and our neighbouring North West Super League Clubs. Last weekend the quality of the Championship was quite rightly acclaimed in the Summer Bash competition, and by opening our doors in this way we will not only recognise the support of others in the game but also give them an opportunity to see a game contested by two quality Championship Clubs - the Lions and the Broncos.”

Chris Rostron from RL Cares also added “We are pleased to see initiatives like this being taken by the Lions and we hope supporters of the game take up this excellent opportunity. We have been working closely with the Lions in setting up their Community Foundation recently and we are really excited at their plans throughout the summer working with schools and the community through Summer Camps and a Swinton Summer Bash which will take place on the site of their proposed new Stadium on 16th July 2016.”

The game on Sunday kicks off at 3pm at Heywood Road, Sale and all fans wishing to take up this offer need only bring verification of their Club or season ticket membership.

The Community clubs have also been invited to join our pre-match lunch and big match build-up. But note, EVERYONE is welcome to join us for the pre-match lunch, and there are some very special discounts for groups of 8 or more, with tables available for just £200 (a SAVING of up to £100!). This covers match entrance, the pre-match meal with full build-up, and a seat in the main stand.

Or if you wish to come in smaller groups bear in mind there is a 50% discount for Season Ticket holders.
