  1. What Moron wrote for all too see was "...never seen a more brilliant illustration of mental strength & resilience than @EmmaRaducanu’s win. That’s what elite sport is all about – facing up to loss/adversity & going again .... As a fair and open-minded seeker of truth, I'm sure that you won't let your visceral hatred of Moron and what he stands for get in the way of endorsing those words. Back on topic, I fear that the media feeding frenzy, including allegations that China is laying claim to her, will end in tears. Any money, as soon as she has a dip in form, they'll be on her back, sadly. They need to lay off and giver her some space.
  2. Ha -bloody-ha. In my view he's an appalling person and why he merits any media exposure is beyond me. But if you want to have a go at him, at least base your opprobrium on facts. Try it.
  3. What a remarkable achievement. In my view, she's going to need protection from the sort of stress she'll never have had from just playing. Sure, Morgan is a #### ####### ##### but this thread is not the place to exploit Raducanu just to have a go at Morgan. What Morgan actually posted was.“From Wimbledon choker to US Open champion in 3 months…. never seen a more brilliant illustration of mental strength & resilience than @EmmaRaducanu’s win. That’s what elite sport is all about – facing up to loss/adversity & going again with no whining & steely determination.” She has faced up to loss/adversity. She has gone again with no whining. She has steely determination. She clearly is no choker, though.
  4. An exceptional performance from her today. In my view, performances like this can have a positive influence on getting youngsters to take up the sport. Equally, there is now a danger that once the honeymoon period is over, the negative comments will start.
  5. Has anyone ever completed one of these models?
  6. "There has to be something close to parity, or a continuous challenge, to fire up public/player interest in Australia. That must be the long term goal for England and others." How will anyone know that has or is happening if Australia continues to default on the International game? By their actions in hiding behind the excuses given, why would anyone trust the Aussie/NRL authorities to turn up in 2022 or 2025. I certainly would not, which is why postponement is so wrong. Hold it now, and if Aus and or NZ don't turn out, mark them down as no shows. In years to come, the results will only show who won the 2021 World Cup, not who didn't turn up.
  7. Fan power caused the ESL soccer breakaway to dismantle in a couple of days. I realise that we are miniscule in all respects compared to soccer, but why can't fan power achieve something here? Hands up the number of posters who think the WC will happen in 2022?
  8. So part one of Vlandis and Gould's plan has succeeded. They will now start on part two, the actual take over.
  9. The carriage would have been present. It's the horse droppings that will be missing.
  10. It's all you are going to get from the antipodean jerks.
  11. Indeed, but must base the modelling on Aus and NZ defaulting yet again.
  12. Yes. It's full of lies. https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/08/05/2021-world-cup-officially-postponed-due-to-covid-19-pandemic/
  13. Yes, revenge us a dish best served cold. Nevertheless, perfidy should carry immediate retribution.
  14. Very disappointing press release. I'd like to have seen a much stronger reference to the damage caused by the way Aus has behaved. No indication of the whip being cracked. No guarantee that Aus and puppet state NZ have agreed to take part next year.
  15. Others may feel and act differently of course but this is my position. I will continue to watch on TV as many International, SL and NRL games as I can, and attend as many games in person where my health and personal Covid safety considerations allow. To do otherwise is in my view to submit to the bullying of Vlandis and Gould and proving them right. Of course, it's difficult not to feel anger, betrayal and disgust at the forces of cant and hypocrisy from Vlandis and Gould and co but i would not stoop so low as to send both of them by post a White feather in an envelope addressed "Private and confidential for the personal attention of Mr P Gould"
  16. If it's true (don't know if that is or isn't the case) that govt. funding has been pulled, it can only be because they quite rightly don't trust the Australian rugby league authorities. ..and who can blame them?
  17. Just need to add the line about Australia and its colony not coming in 2022 because it will be cold and wet . Player welfare.
  18. The opposite of lock down is lock up. Here's hoping it applies to Vlandis and Gould.
  19. No it doesn't. For that, you need to read my Wikipedia entry.
  20. In my opinion, non-partisan sports fan viewers, don't give a damn whether teams are from Leigh, Batley, or even Outer Mongolia. How many Sky UK viewers of NRL know or care where Manly is, or Gold Coast?
  21. No point in trying to reply. I cant read his row-locks anyway, since he blocked me following my erudite and highly literate tweet to him. "This account owner limits who can view their Tweets""
  22. I've had enough of this. Don't want to alienate those sensible Aussies who post on here. Plenty of positions, opinions etc but not only has not one poster changed their view, the powers that be are not listening. The game's leaders in Aus seem to be US mini-me but without the smoothness and subtlety of the previous US President. Que sera sera and I'm off to watch Roosters v Eels on Sky.
  23. That mean they'll do as their media tell them. I bet they still watch the Olympics even though they have zero chance of ever topping the medal tables.
