Sam Smiths do some superb bottled beers but I've always found their cask Old Brewery Bitter to be too hit and miss. So much so that I don't risk it anymore. John Smiths cask used to be really good but I'm going back many years. The keg and canned stuff you get now I find revolting and bears very little resemblance to it.

First three places in the Vuelta GC all occupied by Jumbo-Visma but the internal team dynamic is getting very interesting and probably just a little bit tense. For all the talk of riding for Sepp Kuss, Vingegaard and Roglic didn't hesitate to drop him on the final climb on the Angliru. He's far too nice a bloke and too much of a team player to criticise his teammates but he must have been thinking they'd shafted him.

We've both been watching our team long enough to know what was coming last night. I'd like to say I was surprised by just how abject a performance it was but I wasn't. -

Yes, some of the stuff we came up with was brainless. We were continually pushing plays that weren't on and the pass Tex Hoy threw for the interception was one of the worst you'll ever see. I know we were missing both our halves but that's no excuse for the rubbish we served up. You have to be able to adapt to losing a player or two. It happens. Despite the best efforts of TransPennine Express I got there just in time for the start of the game. They should have done me a favour and just cancelled.
