  1. I'd exclude the losers' shield from any home game counting simply because they are always afterthought tournaments with so little interest. I'd forgotten about the 1895 so, yes, I guess there could be a couple more competitive home games there.
  2. My immediate reaction is that only nine guaranteed home fixtures a season is not enough.
  3. Oh god. People are proving @Pulga's point. The minutiae of the structure - for this thread at least - is completely unimportant.
  4. Several of those were brought in on promises of funding and support that never materialised.
  5. It's not dependent but they do get significant numbers travelling.
  6. Because it was poorly worded, ineptly delivered, and frequently borne from ignorance?
  7. Blimey. Pulga agreeing with the British posters on here. Must be a first.
  8. Ah. So what's the deal that's been agreed and what was discussed and rejected then? Cos, as far as I can tell, we're all still yakking about rumours at this stage. There's even a different offer (I think) a few posts up.
  9. Why? What's happened to prove them wrong?
  10. That might shift if it were a genuine para sport(*) but it is a spectacle unlike some other wheelchair variants of 'running' games. It absolutely could generate some media and coverage of its own. (* - I have no opinion on this. It is what it is.)
  11. It's this for mine. They're not gaming the system. They're not tweaking bits. They are essentially a completely new proposition and should be treated as such. But they will not be treated as such - to stay on topic - even with NRL people involved. Because we're not getting any of the fantasists' fantasies about what that would mean.
  12. No, it really does fit.
  13. Based on what is being said here: there is no stronger leadership coming.
  14. Fair. It is an issue though. And like a lot of our governance issues cuts across several strands.
  15. I don't ordinarily see it as a huge issue. I think 14 works better than 15. I would never push for 15. The reason it's become an issue is because it is becoming evident Huddersfield are about to face no sanction at all - let alone the demotion they should be facing - for mickey taking on an epic scale.
  16. The Kiwi Ferns and the NZ wheelchair side wearing different kits?
  17. Because if the structure of the game is as important as some people seem to believe it is then it cannot be left to the clubs themselves to decide it.
  18. It appears the only important bit for the NRL was getting Super League onto DAZN. The rest, based on what is being suggested, is up to the usual Real Rugby League People to determine with, seemingly, no actual requirements. I guess therefore that success will be based on the number of Watch NRL subscriptions not dull things like any improvement to rugby league.
  19. With Rhodri Thomas in charge.
  20. Where's the progress?
  21. I thought this trust fund had already been established
  22. Thomas's appointment stops any new thinking - which, contrary to what some on here believe, I am not against. I am just against any belief that any NRL move would automatically be smarter, wiser etc etc. Going to DAZN stops any new audience. But for a few years we get to not be too poor. Experience tells us any money will not be well spent.
  23. Completely - totally and utterly - pointless.
  24. Oh, I get that too. But had there been any ambition behind this then it would have needed some selling and testing etc. As it is, it looks like it's a moderately convoluted TV deal for DAZN's benefit.
