  1. The clubs are still waiting for the minutes from the general meeting in Toulouse. What has been decided, any changes etc. we didn't know they where changing the name to super x111 until the fixtures came out!
  2. Yes the federation published the fixtures on Friday as they close for a months holiday now.
  3. He's a off the cuff player yes, but he can't control a game or lead a team around the park, if you need to win a game with 5 to go he's your man, there's a reason they started him on the bench v the academy and he only played 40 against Scotland, Avignon dropped him to the bench at the end of the season as other coaches had worked him out, yes you need to be able to play heads up rugby and take risks but the higher you go the more calculated the risks need to be and there's less chance of the risks coming off, but yes he's a very good player and will learn a lot playing next to gigot,
  4. He's a good no14, he played 9 as a young lad, and France 17s
  5. Rostang 18th man, on the team sheet on the french federation.
  6. The conditions are quite testing in serbia I've heard. Very hot and no air conditioning where the players are staying.
  7. Rostang has just signed for Albi, that will be fun watching him and gigot in the halves, Rostang can't stick to a game plan and take risks with kicks and tony is tony and could well get annoyed with him. He spent a month with Halifax this summer.
  8. https://www.ffr13.fr/ler-les-calendriers-super-xiii-et-elite-2-pour-la-saison-2024-2025/ The fixtures are out,
  9. Maybe he didn't realise the true costs, as he said he was going to do more for the reserve team but has done less,
  10. Any news on tv coverage etc? Sponsorship? I've seen that france b will have a couple of games this season again, plus the game against the dragons,
  11. Villefranche wolves are in there not villeghailanc, but I've heard it's very complicated at Toulouse and rumours they may drop down to elite 2, quite a few Toulouse players have moved to Villefranche and st Gaudens, also heard the catalans team is going to be very young as they have pulled a lot of funding for the reserve team to cover the travel of visiting super league teams, alot of the older experienced players they brought in last year will leave,
  12. Yes, the fact that they don't use the no maul rule annoys me, is there not a rule that if the attackers legs aren't on the floor it's held? Or did i lake that up, if he lifts his legs when being pushed he's held? Which is the correct rule for a touch kick? Cross the line in the air? As it was discussed on tv this weekend,
  13. In France you have to push a player into touch, not drag, if you drag it's a penalty,
  14. Coming in to help gomersall catch back up, Clem Martin included in the france squad, no suspension after the academy game and still going to union,
  15. The assistant and the fitness coach will look after him.
  16. Yes good to lift your head up, but bombs in your own 40 that land on the 50, twice attempting a drop with 15 minutes to go, which gave 7 tackles that England scored from, jammin in in defence when not needed, he's a great player and played really well against Lézignan this year. when it comes off it's genius, when it doesn't and teams get used to playing against him you need a little structure and game management to fall back on, The players you mentioned have learnt to do both, but this may my coaching side coming out of me and not the spectator
  17. Yes, the french pro teams don't really scout the french kids, well since the academy finished anyway. they hold trials and anyone can go along. But one good thing over here are the pole espoirs in Carcassonne and salon de Provence and pole france in Toulouse, the kids train every day whilst still doing their studies from thz age of 15 to 17/18 years old. But this again is a selection, they go to school then train afterwards all week and return to their clubs the Weekend, when this finishes at 18 they end up training 2 or 3 times a week back in clubland if they're good enough to train with the elite they still progress but not like they would in a pro club, no elite club is pro. Then university education comes into play and they're finished, cesar rouge brother was an excellent prop with the catalans youth and reserves but gave it up to study engineering. If he was in a real pro club he could do have done both, So yes it's a lack of pro clubs or pro set ups that stops the progress at 18. My son has just finished pole france and will train with lezignan elite (after he recovers from his shoulder op) but he will go from 4 field and 4 gym sessions a week to 3 field and 2 gym sessions (optional). Although he wants to go and join an academy next summer if he's good enough. (he's lucky as he has both passports so no problems for visas)
  18. This team beat the England lions u17s with 50 points in each test. This is the age group of my son so I've watched them all come through, there's a lot of quality, it just stagnates around 18 years old (studies, work, life lack of pro structure etc).
  19. He plays centre with the xiii Catalan team in elite 1 , he's the only player from this french team tonight training as a pro, he's been 18th man a couple of times with the catalans but not made his debut yet.
  20. From today the 1 is at catalans, the 4 lenny marc, the 6 Gimenez the 2 replacement props too, only the 1 has played higher than u19s, the 9 was from Toulouse but came through the lezignan system, the 17 from Toulouse too, out of these I reckon 2 or 3 will make full time rugby the rest will play elite 1, jammes, martin and rostang have played elite 1 all year as has the number 1 for xiii Catalan, you may not believe this but the no1 played his first ever game as a full back today, he plays centre and played 13 in the u17s france team.
  21. There's another 15/20 players the same level as these players but they level off after u19s
