What Are You Listening To - The Reckoning

I looked up Shannon Hoon a while ago but I can't remember why. Maybe he was featured in something on tv? I hadn't heard of the group at all. -

I like this album Oxford. I was in Turkey 2 years ago and the hotel had a continuous loop of very modern soft jazz which I wasn't keen on. However at the end the song "Hey You" by Pink Floyd played. Totally different to any other song on the tape. It made the loop bearable for me knowing this was always on its way. -

This is my favourite track from the new live CD by the monkees. -

Hi Oxford, I hope you are ok. A good song as always. I played 2 Kinks CDs in the garden at the weekend. I like the Lola CD with Lola and Ape man, which satires pretentiousness. I also like the 80s CD with Come Dancing on. -

Thanks, it is a very interesting list so far, we are upto 70? I particularly liked Lieutenant Pigeon, Thunderclap Newman, Procol Harum of those so far. -

Thanks Oxford. I agree with you, it's great to have the forum. Can i just make a comment again on your songs please which are excellent as always? I played the Las yesterday. It reminds me very much of the psychedelic groups of the 60s, Left Banke, Love, West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band. I have the Danny Wilson CD and played this last week. I like the Scottish music from the 80s, Marillion, Aztec Camera, Runrig. -

Thanks Oxford. He founded Bad Company with Paul Rodgers in 1973. Seagull is my favourite song by them. I like Saturday Gigs by Mott the Hoople and Roll away the stone. -

Thanks. This is a fantastic song. I've not heard it live before. What year is it? I think Felix Pappalardi is the vocalist? -

Some good songs there Oxford. I was at middle school when Make me smile was number 1. It's good quality musicianship. The Mott the Hoople song was presumably Mick Ralphs on guitar? -
I taught a Belarussian language student who loved BATE, her father was part of the board. Dynamo Brest are the current champions I think.

I heard Bruce Johnston's I write the songs for the first time a few days ago. I think David Cassidy recorded it first so can it count as a cover version even though he wrote it?

I was listening to MME Blinded by the light album version. Its got a fantastic middle break. I dont know if you have heard it? -
I wondered this. However it may be more damaging for me to stop exercising. Also I work at the NHS now, in a building where patients visit, so there seems more risk there.

Queen of the South are live on BBC Scotland on Friday evening against Ayr. I'm looking forward to watching it. We watch it on freeview down here on the BBC Scotland channel.

Thanks Bob. I am glad you asked. It's low for me. I changed diet as I had painful kidney stones and I think this is the cause of the weight loss. I was on the upper border for BMI so it's actually more healthy for me. I was the same weight today (70.76 please Shadow) so I've maintained it. I am still eating less though.

They will probably bring a fair number to Perth tomorrow. In January they were given 3 sides of the ground as an experiment and filled them. Some home fans didn't agree but St Johnstone need the money to build the team so it is necessary. I don't know if you follow the Scottish football but the game is on Premier sports I think.

Yes, there was a good following from Copenhagen last night too. They played well as Celtic look very slick whenever I see them on tv against other Scottish teams.

It was a great win for Kobenhaven last night. Fair chance of progress with the draw maybe?

70.76 after the gym today please Shadow.
-
73 kg this week please Shadow. Thanks.

I dont think it is fair to judge a club and supporters by the actions of one person, even if they are an official. I dont think Liverpool fans have any room for criticism either. The stoning and attack on the Manchester City bus could have killed people and to me that warranted a ban far more.

72 .12 this week please Shadow. Gained 3lb but last week was very low, I had much stress. That seemed to take the weight off.
-
Down to 70.76 Shadow. Thank you for your effort. Very low for me but had a stressful worrying week, and lost about 5lb.

73.03 this week thanks Shadow.
