  1. We as rl fan and community have to understand there is a problem if so few people come to watch the best Int team play.
  2. People came to see the basketball Dream Team in the 1992 Olympics.
  3. I repeat, it's not happening simply by having amateurs playing v test players in a World Cup.
  4. A professionals vs amateurs gane may not look authentic test rugby. + Getting humiliated with cricket scores doesn't help players' development.
  5. People (at least in some areas) and government care, in France
  6. We need to have the next 2 years tests set in stone. With England winning the trophy or getting close at least, I want people to be able to buy tickets for the next tests. But it's rl and it's not gonna happen.
  7. Would people take the game seriously if an amateur team got smashed 200-0 with injuries, etc.? Grassroots work needs to be done. It's not easy. But having people playing for their family roots takes nothing away from it.
  8. It was a good game and a proper test match. England were slightly lucky with the calls (it was forward, wasn't it?) when Fra came close, but they would have won it anyway. France can be a good test team. Maybe they're lacking some depth... I agreed with the BBC commentary team when they said Eng conceded to many points. But it's a learning curve and maybe...England "needed" it, somehow. Going forward, imagining a final vs the Aussies, not having beaten them in 16 years (as GB, but ok) can be the very problem. Psychologically, I mean. If the famous Hall's finger touch in that 4Nations had been given, etc, England would have had more confidence v Aus now. OT: what's the calendar for the 2023 test season for England?
  9. Heritage players are not a problem imho. They gives us some World Cup that is worth to be watched and proper test match. We already play very few test matches (compared to ru, football, basketball, volleyball, etc.). More and more players would leave the game and switch to union if we had a 5 nations "bona fide-true accents" World Cup.
  10. This can be the most interesting game of the group stage with Tonga v PNG. Of course half of the forumers won't enjoy as there's not bona fide poor blood right accent players representing the teams.
  11. Pandemic years haven't helped, especially when you're asking people to switch from their ru teams (who have the money) to rl from time to time (rl which, without gov money can't pay and goes on thanks to the work by volunteers, etc.). In addition to this, the idea that removing heritage players --> magically develop homegrown talent is foolish. Italy home some domestic players in their 24, one of them have played vs Scotland. They just need to restart with test match on home soil after the Covid shock.
  12. Hmmm, no. No Saluzzo player was involved that day. It was before they even entered the French system.
  13. It's the 19th of November and Sneyd kicks a penalty and gives England the World Cup
