  1. Ahh the phantom punch incident. McDonnell got sent off didn’t he?
  2. IMO it isn't him personally that's the issue, it's more about how he's ended up back where he is.
  3. Degsy did get into a twitter spat with his own staff over their twitter updates on a match though!
  4. Yep not sure what the issue is, its the same production quality as the football games on SS+ with the added VR thrown in, it’s absolutely fine. I think the pre/after match stuff on the main picks is a bit low rent though eg what happened to John Wells interviewing a player with a big screen?
  5. It does but they also pay for the production costs of those games
  6. Didn’t Derek say that he wanted to put less money i to it a few months back?
  7. Yes this was pleasing to hear. My issue is how influenced he will be going forward by the clubs and their owners.
  8. It's utter madness to lock your main content away on a dedicated subscription based platform. How many elite sports do this? For starters, what's more attractive to sponsors? a game on a main TV platform with millions of subscribers or a locked away streaming service with only RL fans subscribing to watch it?
  9. It's total nonsense to presume that would happen. Yes a lot of people (me included) only subscribe to sky for the RL but the fact is by doing that you do get access to all the other sports on their so makes the decision a bit different. Has he also factored in the running costs of a proper streaming service, has he thought about the production costs for 7 games per round, presenters fees etc. That doesn't mean we should just accept what sky are offering or look at other options but his fag packet numbers show how worrying it is if we just let people like Beaumont run the game and its strategy.
  10. Have we got a precis, not watched it yet
  11. What a show, we finally looked like we had a genuine long term plan, yes it had flaws (nothings perfect) but in true RL style, 1st year into gradings being fully implemented and it looks like were back to short term thinking and clubs being out for themselves
  12. Not sure to be honest but the news was was from the yep
  13. Very damaging for the whole game
  14. Don't think this will be the walkover that people are predicting. Leeds injuries are starting to pile up a bit I wot name Sivo as hes not part of the 2025 squad. Holroyd - broken hand out for 6 weeks Oledski - broken face 8 weeks Gannon - another 4 weeks til fit? Tom Nicholson Watton - not sure but he's injured Jack Sinfield - Foot injury not sure on length Jake Connor - Hearing he's gorgeous cracked ribs from the Saints game. Wouldn't be surprised if we dipped into the loan market for a prop
  15. The precis is, if Sport England pull the funding RL in this country would be up ht creek without a paddle. Wonder if people would still be prostrating themselves infant of those millionaires then?
  16. from Google Funding Allocation: Sport England provides funding to the RFL, which is then distributed to clubs and organizations across England. Strategic Objectives: The funding aims to support the RFL's strategic goals, which include promoting participation, developing talent, and addressing inequalities within the sport. Specific Examples: One example is the £11.9 million awarded to the RFL over five years, starting in April 2022, to support England national teams, develop the sport, tackle inequalities, and build stronger communities. Grassroots Focus: A significant portion of the funding is directed towards grassroots rugby league, supporting clubs and organizations in their efforts to engage more people in the sport. Other Funding Streams: Beyond the direct funding to the RFL, Sport England also provides funding for specific initiatives, such as the CreatedBy Small Grants Programme and the Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund, which benefit community rugby league clubs. Survival Package: The Rugby League also received £17.1 million through the Sport Survival Package, which helped with the delivery of the Rugby League World Cup in 2022. Funding to Address Inequalities: The RFL was awarded £300,000 from Sport England's Tackling Inequalities Fund. Monitoring: Sport England also monitors the RFL's leadership appointments to ensure they adhere to the Code for Sports Governance, according to a report by Love Rugby League.
  17. Hes a unit! looks very decent int the reserves/Academy
  18. I bet they don't, they won't want to spend the money for professionals or experts.
  19. Sutton will be gone shortly. I know a good person to take over the CEO role, if he can fit it in between his other two roles at the RFL
  20. Sorry this is nonsense. Just because it’s been ‘democratically’ voted for by the clubs doesn’t mean we the supporters can’t discuss it and have a view
  21. Club owners have voted for all sorts of stuff (including IMGs recommendations recently) why are you giving them a free pass from criticism on this particular vote?
