Why do we have to start off so badly? Wood just sits in the stand swearing. Its hard to listen to him. The second half was amazing. We really gave it some effort and all those players who left us showed why we shouldn't be bothered that they did as North Wales did a Swinton 2024 style surrender. Ellis Anderson can be really elusive. Rodden flew it in all afternoon. Great to see 2 proper half backs releasing our three quarters in the second half. North Wales constant chatter was embarrassing and certainly influenced the young ref who had a decent game but he should have nipped Dallimores interference in the bud.

It was good to see George back to some of his best form. He gives 100% and obviously is a confidence player. Browny came on with a point to prove and certainly proved it. If he's left out next week it would be a travesty. Anderson and Sargent looked dangerous with the ball but both flanks are woefully inexperienced and were exposed defensively. Maybe the second rowers aren't covering well enough? We should look to spread it out to the three quarters in attack as we have finally got bags of pace across the field which is something we have lacked in a long time. We certainly have an exciting young team who will no doubt entertain and frustrate in equal measure. I guess we will need some patience to allow them to develop and flourish. As for the forwards Shingler and Beardsworth look the real deal as exciting prospects. From the established players Rodden is clearly a class above whilst I'd rather see one of our many youngsters play over Cox. Kenny Baker came on and played well too.

Entertaining second half First half we were awful

It's a bit worrying that things seemed to have ground to a halt after the launch night which was a success in my opinion and well attended. I think we are several players short of a full squad especially given the age of some of the lads in it We don't have a new chairman announced which was promised within a few days of Stuart Fletcher stepping down We have no website We have no friendlies announced We have no DR announced I'm sure " lots will have been going on behind the scenes as usual and we need to keep the faith"

I think I'd pretty much pick the same I'd have Bate over Vigo Bate was the best winger I've seen for us I'd add John Allen Wayne English Kevin penny Sean Casey

Paul Wood mentioned this on the Monday night launch. They clearly have high hopes for Roberts. He also explained that he expected Dan to play regularly. I think he'll be a utility. Walker at 13 seemed to have a plan too although it wasn't expanded upon. Woody said don't get too excited Ant you're no ball player when he was announced at 13 rather than prop

Hopefully being the word

The club also announced that Stuart Fletcher has stepped down as chairman A piece of news that's gone under the radar Fletcher and Wild had a chat to the large crowd and then Woody and Jason H got the ball rolling and went through the team. I would hope we are looking at recruiting at least one more experienced forward or winger as we have lots of unknowns going into the season . Wood and Jason spoke especially well and the women's team captain was particularly articulate I think the women's team is self funding and they did bring a lot to the proceedings I like the orange shirt Not as mad on the home one as it's too white but I think they're deliberately out there as we seem to be ushering in a new era and for that I'm happy We've soldiered along with some journeyman players the last few seasons who could only be bothered 1 game in 3 Time for a fresh start and I think the kit reflects that.

I think you've edited it from 5k or I need new specs

Need to follow it up with a win over Whitehaven who have been a bit of a nemesis to us in recent years Fabulous win yesterday We don't need dual reg with the players returning as they are Bennion nearly match fit gives us another big lad to pick
-
Again there's no it's and buts he's signed for Fev
-
You've definitely signed him

Ref had a pretty good game considering he was about 11 years old and that as a Swinton fan seeing us penalised twice as much as Oldham takes some saying Thought Kopzak deserved at least a yellow for his shoulder charge and hurt himself in the process. Other than that there were few contentious issues and I'm struggling to see many inconsistencies watching it back today
