Salford financial issues(again…)

How does that pay the wages? Letting then do as they have always done means we will get what we always got -

Admitting I am always right is also something the wife struggles with -
Armstrong wasted on the wing/centre. We didnt have a problem Game 1 or indeed any until last week, when a depleted pack got no territory for 25 mins, then we blew 2 real chances. Pene is a waste of a quota spot at present so pay him off and bring 2 in - we have the cap space. Lam was absent last week - it happens and OB was coming back after a failed HIA. Mulhern and Halton make a huge difference, that gives a lot more space to the halves.

Its not now - the Ashes will create the buzz that RL, including NRL, needs to expand and increase its value. A SL/NRL partnership is a no brainer going forward, the mutual benefits are huge. -

Through all these posts there is only one realistic solution - Salford are controlled centrally on as low a cost as possible, offload any high earners and get a dispensation on the number of loanees to season end - they then lose their SL spot in 2026 to a club that is told immediately they will be in SL 2026 so they can build and recruit now. This allows Salford to plan for the Championship and rebuild. We must action this now, avoid the weekly/monthly embarrassment to focus on the massive positives that we have coming up. Alternatively the NEW OWNERS put the money in now to guarantee financial security and pay back advances/HMRC -

Propping up seems the best option at the lowest affordable cost and dispensation on loanees - get the games off the main channels and see our tv commitments through, with a caveat that their fixtures be reviewed when T6 is being settled -

Isn’t that what I said, this may simply be a choice of what’s least financially damaging in £ terms. Looks to me like You’d row with a mirror -

Or would be working the sustainability cap ran by the RFL or would have been replaced in November -

A situation caused by a weakly governed RFL, if they had taken ownership and forced the salary cap we would not have been here today and Salford fans would be passionately supporting a backs to the wall season. The amount of smelly stuff Salford fans have been given and swallowed these past years is criminal -

Commercial world reality - income drops, and business gets reviewed ( good ones review permanently) How do we increase revenue and what costs can be removed as having no positive contribution . Top line vanity bottom sanity -

Possible scenario 1/ SL clubs voted not to advance any more 2/ This forces SRD under and SL take over club 3/ sell players to meet the sustainability cap 4/ Fulfill season and SRD replaced in 2026 -
England v Australia 2025 - coming to the UK!

It should be linked to having purchased for T1/2, that sells 20k at those venues -

The game can go two ways - as fans we have a duty to showcase this series by attending in huge numbers and taking non fans with us for the crack. Hopefully we dont have train strikes and road closures -

Then release McDonald and the other higher paid players, but take a couple of fringe in return. -
Depends which Leigh turns up and if we have a pack again. Lam will have had a few words after last sunday, so lets see the reaction. Just hope we have good rucks and speed to it. Will be a great crowd on with this being the first away support of any numbers and not many tickets left on Leighs ticket page with North sold out, west with just 22 left and only single seats in The East until the far south blocks. Hopefully get to 9500. Believe we have also sold over 1000 for the challenge cup game the following week.

SL clubs look to reinstate Nigel Wood.
sweaty craiq replied to The 4 of Us's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Every country has a sport that is the primary beneficiary of tv income. Our Australian cousins have little to no idea of the challenges faced competing with the biggest sport in the world when they are not exposed to it. great things of mutual benefit can come from a partnership -

Think about this situation - US gets a taste for RL, that’s what Vegas is about, so they say here’s a few Billion go buy the NRL hack a few clubs out and locate them to the US. NRL could not financially compete with that and the sport would quickly become the biggest rugby code by a long way overnight. The point is the Australian market is small change to the US, just as the SL is small change to the NRL but a global international product will drive big bucks -

I agree it was related to the comment if one team in Hull it would be KR, it wouldn’t it would be a “new” team playing out of the big stadium. I would love the day we can have 14/16/18 clubs playing in great stadiums with big crowds all over UK and France. I won’t see it in my lifetime, and it will involve evolution if the NRL do partner -

The vision would be one club playing at elite level in front of 20k plus crowds, not a hull derby that only really impacts the good folk of Hull if it went. Same with Wigan v Saints etc -

Seeing as we are all using crystal balls, a sport having strong domestic comps that produce genuine international competition and include the USA, which starts with a clean slate don’t forget, would have significantly more tv value than what the NRL currently have as a domestic comp. Creating Win/Win is how we go forward imo
