The O2 deal alone was more than double the previous shirts total. Both parties got value from it as the club worked with the sponsor to sell contract offers to fans. You don’t hook a £B organisation paying big money in the championship . The deals at York and Rochdale will be similar and hopefully as lucrative. Do Wigan declare how much they get?

No accusations but a share issue was the way, if the club had said we are doing this to get rid of the PG of Paul and you will have no control real control/shares in the club it would have been honest -

Especially when it seems the people controlling the shares are running off other people’s money whilst putting nowt in of any value. That fan donation should have been a share dilution -

Run the process- extra money comes in and disappears from player sales and fans “share” purchase. A £315k grant in August 24, plus an extra play off home fixture. Its fair to assume they won’t be there in 25, then you take off £50k a month from central funds (£500k) How do you not go under ? -
Sponsorships break down when there is no partnership or drive to ensure the value is perceived - look at the above comments regarding SM views, look at how players and management supported the deal and look at how the club is promoting the brand within its fan base and beyond. IMO a tester was done last season in that Jet2 was promoted via a local travel agent - the return on that probably led to what we have now. Creating mutual benefits or a win/win situation is how all relationships work, creating demand through exclusivity switches the supply/demand reality that drives income upwards. RL Commercial is poop at it but are probably cheap and of little value in the real world

Interesting signing, NSW cup last 2 years 23 yo looking for a break with big boots to fill. Very similar to Amone just hope it works as well. That’s a pretty young and mobile front row we will be turning out all over 6ft and 106-110 kg. Will be interesting to see if any of the young props come through also. -
Top clubs would rip your arm off for that figure. A few years ago I had dealings with a current StHelens sponsor who were sponsoring them for the first time, they told me what it was costing them and I swear hand on heart the same spot on a championship shirt at Leigh cost more. SL shirt sponsorship is probably less now than in 1996. Jet 2 will be top 4 or better in value.

IF that was the case how could they lose so much money with £1.2m funding, all that cash from the fans, council loans, no rent and then Gates/sponsorship? Plus no academy -
Franz in Berlin has a choice of team sports to participate in and watch, he has soccer, soccer and soccer. Benny in Bolton has Soccer, RU, RL, Cricket and that’s before attractions like darts, and less so ice hockey, basketball etc which also apply to Franz but that explains why those are bigger in Europe.

A few are on big bucks, they would be the obvious losses but who has cap space to take them? 3/4 players would cover that if they could be offloaded Marstens, Lafai and MCDonald would make a huge hole in that alone -
In times of economic uncertainty it’s vital the Women’s game is self funding which it clearly isn’t unless you tag onto a big University and/or get big sponsorship/tv deal. Let the sport grow from its routes in community clubs and develop as finance allows. We are fortunate at Leigh in so far as the owners family are passionate about it and are prepared to put in financially, but it’s seems to be an organic growth with investment in coaches, facilities and medical support

“ I'll keep saying it.....Salford's best option was to move to Moor Lane and reconsolidate as a healthy championship side that could crowd up nicely in it's appropriately sized 5000 capacity stadium “ Financial disaster as they would have to pay and may have not got the council “loans” They have milked the Councils generosity well and now it’s time for the people and business to show they want a SL club - I genuinely hope they respond to what surely must be a last chance -
Thought Leeds/Bradford was their base but they have a presence at most holiday airports and are huge ex Manchester. Club has done a link up for Cats and it’s rumoured they will be also chartering planes. This where RL commercial are useless - we took 2500 to Cats according to Catalans themselves so if there are 20k a season that’s huge leverage to partner the sport even before all other benefits are opened up, same with utilities, phones, internet/tv etc etc One thing about Derek is he would rather not sell than undersell and cheapen the brand

Will give the club huge credit, it all went a bit quiet after the renewal deadline but the main sponsor announcement followed by new signing releases and the presentation season ticket boxes will be out to collect later in the week, will result in most Leythers on a big high at Christmas leading to the second Membership surge and a feel good vibe going into the season.
