  1. I agree. I would also try and keep all of the local lads as they are the heart and soul of our team and have pretty much all shown that they are more than good enough for this very tough league. I would keep Brooks too as I think hes got better and better as the season went on and has a great pair of hands too. This season has been phenomenal, one of the best I've seen in 40 years of watching, but if we want to improve on it again next season and finances allow, my wish list would be at least one more big powerful prop, another specialist centre ( Costello please) and another experienced playmaking half back who can lead the team round the park while allowing Jarrod Sammut to create his magic. Dont want much then I know.... but you've got to dream big

I'll be gutted if we loose him but he thoroughly deserves his chance if it comes along, he's been fantastic for us. On the plus side we should still have two excellent wingers in Shane Toal and Ryan Shaw plus Brett Carter if he's willing to go again, assuming they will all re-sign. Maybe we could use the money from Tee to try and entice Matty Costello from Salford and keep Hakim? That would still be a pretty formidable three quarter line
  3. Couldn't agree more. He's been absolutely outstanding and an out and out match winner for us when games have been in the balance. I know historically hes been a bit of a rugby nomad ibut I sincerely hope we can entice him to stay at least another season. In all honesty I hope we can keep pretty much the whole of this team together for next year because what they have achieved so far has been fantastic and with the possible addition of 3 or 4 quality players I believe we can firmly cement a place in the top 5 or 6 of this league.
  4. If that's definatly Sunday's team Pablo then that's a very strong line up
  5. Garry Wheeler had looked like he may have a hamstring strain as he had came off pointing at his upper leg and when he sat in the stand he had an ice pack on it. Shame if it is because he was just starting to show glimpses of his undoubted abilities. Hope we can get Costello again as he looked pure class last week and with between him and Hakim we would have a seriously dangerous centre combo. Heres hoping
  6. Is Matt Costello available again for Sunday does anyone know?
  7. Big game today after Thursday's effort. Let's hope for a big crowd too. Come on boys you can win this
  8. Yet another incredible never say die effort from our patched up group of warriors. The commitment to each other and to the coaching staff and the determination to win at all costs no matter how big the challenge is amazing. Fantastic performance
  9. Looking at the line up for today's game I notice there's still no sign of Tom Hopkins. Is he injured? He was going really well for us in the games he's played in this season imo
  10. Wow! I thought Brett was a candidate for man of the match yesterday and in all honesty I think hes put in a massive effort in all the games he's played for us so far. I personaly think he still has plenty to offer us and I can barely recall him putting a foot wrong . Maybe it's just me??
  11. Thanks for the update Steve. That's great news it really did sound like a bad one from the radio coverage.
  12. Has anyone got any further news on how he is? I see he was released from hospital later that day thankfully but do we have any idea how long he's likely to be out for? Also I believe we lost Danny Langtree and Ellis Gillam to arm and calf injuries? Hope all concerned are able to make quick recoveries.
  13. Good luck to Fev I say. They've managed to stay a decent championship side for years now, they have a great bunch of fans, in my experience, and I for one sincerely hope they win promotion this year. They deserve it
  14. Fantastic result. Well done each and every one of you. Backs to the wall today but you really stood up and showed us what you are made of with that performance. What a team
  15. I assume Tee wont be playing judging by how he looked coming off last week. Does anyone have any idea how he is or how long he may be out? Also I wonder if Gary Wheeler is back in the team this week? I'm sure with game time and hopefully staying injury free he should be a real asset
  16. Have to credit the board with how quickly they've moved to make this signing. They certainly aren't letting the grass grow under their feet. Well done all concerned. Hope he's as good as tandle suggests he is. Welcome aboard Jack
  17. Something like this has been coming for a few games now in my opinion ( although I didn't expect it to be as bad as this) I've seen a fair bit of "niggle" creeping into his game recently when he has been tackled and it's a crying shame because in attack he is one of the most gifted and exciting players I've seen in a Barrow shirt for a long time. Add to this the fact that Tee looked decidedly unwell when he came off, the fact that Foz, one of our only 2 fit specialist props is playing injured and the run of exceedingly tough games we have coming up it's going to be a worrying few weeks I reckon. Sincerely hope I'm wrong
  18. Absolutely spot on. Batley a very big, very powerful and very well organised side. They came out of the blocks like a train with loads of aggression and just steam rollered our game but considerably smaller pack. We ended up playing catch up rugby early doors and made a ton of mistakes which just compounded our problems. Massive respect to our boys who despite the adversity ( thanks Hakim) managed to rise to the occasion 2nd half and give them a real game.there is no shortage if team spirit in this side but I think today showed we are at least a couple of big aggressive props short if we want to compete week in week out with teams the caliber of Batley. P S. Escare was absolutely a class above as you would expect and if there was any way his signing could be made possible.... count me in
  19. Hooker perhaps? Mossy appeared to be carrying an injury when he came off last Sunday
  20. I wonder if these two are available to us for Sunday's game? It's going to be yet another tough physical encounter and I think we may well need the extra firepower they would provide as, by Crestas own admission, our bench is a bit light atm
  21. Incredible performance live on the BBC. I think today's showing will make the rugby league community sit up and take notice of the Barrow Raiders and massive strides the club is making both on an off the field. Best performance I've seen from the club since we won the 2009 Final and beat Cas at the Jungle in 2010. It's a joy to watch
  22. Thanks for reply Butch. I hope so too
  23. I was unable to make the game but was wondering how Garry Wheeler went on his first competitive game for us?
