As a Barrow fan I definitely don’t think the Cumbrian derbys will be easy at all. On paper our squad looks quite strong but you don’t play on paper! Hopefully all 3 teams have successful seasons.

I know one of them was putting money in to the football. They now get £2M central funding from the EFL so he’s decided to put some money into the rugby instead. Not sure what made him back the football as he’s always been a RL man. Not sure who the other investors are. It’s great for the club.

Not many positives to take from that, good for fitness! Silva looks a handful. Thought Finn McMillan should have been man of the match. Second half was terrible.

At kick off it’s given 30mph winds with 60mph gusts. Get your facts right before gibbing off! On the marquee note, it’s been closed for the day, good decision keeping it shut, should stop the wind getting in when the door is open.

Hopefully Bulman isn’t too serious. When you think Costello and Toal were missing from the backs and Silva, Burke and Gillam from down the middle maybe things aren’t as bad as some make out.

I don’t expect much from the pre season games personally. Blow the cobwebs off and don’t pick up any injuries. Be good to see some of the new signings, really looking forward to see what Silva has to offer.

Might be a decent option for the bench with his utility value. He’s a bit of an unknown for us at the moment. Might nail down a position and keep it.

Am I correct in thinking he stopped playing for Haven because he wasn’t getting paid? If so surely the club were in breach of contract? It all sounds a bit messy!
