Well that was almost embarrassing at times as a Rovers supporter. Cas were really poor. I feel for their fans. It looks like a fair few aren't even bothering to turn up. There were some big gaps on the home terraces last night. I know my team are going well again this year, but the standard of top flight RL in SL is pretty low. Wigan & Rovers are both high quality sides and Leeds are showing some really positive signs of coming good at the right point of the season. At least 3 teams would be better in the Championship though and the rest can't string two good performances together.

Rovers still have key players injured (Gildart, Martin (remember him) and will be playing without the recognised full-back and any accomplished goal kicker. And if we're still clear favourites with the bookies then that either says we have outstanding squad depth or that the overall standard of top-flight RL is pretty low this year aside from a couple of teams. Rovers by around 10-12 points. It'll be fairly low scoring (we don't concede too many (unless you're Wigan). I expect Rovers to play cold, clinical RL and wear down the Wire by dominating field position. Our defence is just unbelievable under WP. RRTR.

Actually, most if not all, big business in the UK is heavily subsidised by the tax payer (DWP benefits paid to working people who are not paid enough by their employer etc...) I don't think Hull KR are as reliant on owner money as they used to be. They are a fine example of how to maximise income streams (refreshments, rebrand and merchandise etc...). A made possible by good managment and a loyal fanbase.

The point is that, to way too many, expansion can only mean extra clubs in new areas. Expansion can mean attracting new fans in existing areas, new sponsors, new media opportunities and new ways to promote what we have. Then new clubs in new areas might be viable. -

What was the point in chucking scarce funds at setting up a new club in an area where travelling time and costs were always going to be a real burden? We need to financially consolidate what we have in the northern areas before considering romantic, wistful endeavours like this. The negative closure publicity is damaging beyond the positive message conveyed when the club was created. -
Salford financial issues(again…)

This is just an awful situation. I really feel for all the staff. Just terrible when you have a family and bills to pay. Forget what happens on the field and all the pointless politiking. The players looked really down at Rover's on Thursday. Good luck to all of those affected. -
Not good at all that one. Let's hope his recovery goes well and we see him on the field again soon.

Rovers are still clunky and not a good watch. Jez Litten is the only stand out so far. We are missing Matt Parcell. Wakey put in a good effort and will be difficult to beat this year (like Cas). Great turn out last night. Wakey have certainly made some decent ground improvements so far. I really hope they have a good season.
