I've heard that we still owe arround £4 million to the council, and Matt Ellis had originally agreed to repay it at a rate of £1 million per year over the next four years. However, due to changes in personnel at the council, the gentleman's agreement we had has been scrapped and they want the money back asap and intend to start charging interest on the loan if we don't pay it off. As a result, I think Matt has decided to settle the entire debt in one go. Only going off the rumour I've heard from somebody who is usually pretty spot on.
