Supporters Direct Voice of the Fans

Saturday 17th October 2015 – 10:30am to 4:30pm

Heritage Quay, Huddersfield University

Calling all fans of Rugby League!

Supporters Direct will be holding their second annual Voice of the Fans day on Saturday 17th October at the fantastic Heritage Quay in Huddersfield University.

Last year was a roaring success with many fans of Rugby League attending and enjoying the chance to take part in informative workshops and hear from a number of high profile speakers as well as networking with likeminded supporters and this year’s event promises to be bigger and better!

In line with the ongoing Rugby League 120th celebrations, this year’s Voice of the Fans is themed around the anniversary.

The day will begin with an opening address from keynote speakers Nigel Wood, Chief Executive Director, Rugby Football League and Phil Bentham, Rugby League referee.

There are four workshops running throughout the day discussing heritage, Rugby League memories, community involvement as well as a session dedicated to Supporters Direct’s ongoing work assisting and empowering fans.

After the workshops delegates will be given the opportunity to take part in a lively Q&A session around the topic of the New Era, chaired by Matthew Horton from Radio Yorkshire with a panel consisting of Greg Mullholland, MP for Leeds West and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group, Mark Foster, Marketing Director for the Rugby Football League and Phil Caplin, author, journalist and publisher.

As well as the workshops and speakers there will be a host of exhibitors stalls on display and all attending delegates will also be given the chance to purchase tickets for the upcoming England v France international match for just £5.

“This is the must attend event for all League fans and we are privileged to offer the opportunity for supporters to ask the questions you really want to directly to Nigel Wood, Mark Foster and a senior International referee.  It’s what us supporters have asked for, our chance to have a voice in the game we love”, said Martyn Cheney, Chair of Bramley Buffaloes and Chair of the Supporters Direct Rugby League Council.

Early bird tickets booked before 1st October for members are just £8 and non-members £10.

Went last year and had a great day. Nigel Wood is in attendance this year to answer your questions along with the rfl marketing guy and a top referee. It's our chance as fans to ask the questions in person to the people that can answer them.
