Dons backing Sinfield for SPOTY

<p>Doncaster Rugby League are backing Leeds Rhinos and Super League legend Kevin Sinfield to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2015.</p>

<p>The ceremony takes place this Sunday live on BBC 1 from 7pm and Sinfield is among the ten nominations after leading Leeds to a historic treble, captaining them to the Challenge Cup, League Leaders Shield and Super League success.</p>

<p>Sinfield has had an illustrious career and is one of the most decorated players in the game, winning Super League seven times, the Challenge Cup twice and the World Club Challenge three times.</p>

<p>Speaking about the 35 year-old, Dons CEO Carl Hall said: "I have sat alongside Kevin for a number of years at the laws comittee and saw him come through the ranks as a youngster whilst at Leeds.</p>

<p>"He has gone on to be a fantastic captain, role model and icon of rugby league, the success he has had in the game will be extremely difficult to be ever replicated.</p>

<p>"Last season was an incredible season for Kevin to bow out on, having captained Leeds to a historic treble and he deserves all the success he has had.</p>

<p>"He is Super League's all time top points scorer and alongside captaining Leeds, he has also lead his country on the biggest stage.</p>

<p>"Kevin is great both on and off the field, he is a fantastic leader and sporting personality I urge all Dons supporters and rugby league fans to unite and vote on Sunday as I feel there has never been anybody so deserving of this accolade.</p>

<p>"Voting for BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2015 on Sunday December 20 will be available over the phone (numbers will be provided on the night of the awards ceremony) and via the BBC website.</p>

<p>In order to vote online, you will need to be registered with the BBC sign in system, BBC iD, by visiting <a href="https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/id/register"target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/id/register</span></a></p>

<p>If you have already registered with BBC iD, then you only need to sign in on the day of the awards to cast your vote.</p>

<p>There is also a fan campaign to win Sinfield the award by buying him a pint. This encourages rugby league fans to vote for Kevin 20 times. Each vote cost 15p accumulating to £3 and thus buying Kevin a pint.Fans can get involved in backing Sinfield by using the hashtags #Kev4SPOTY and #BuyKevAPint</p>
